Super Flower Leadex III Gold UP 850w noise levels?

I've seen some people say it's noisy, is it really? Or did those people just get a faulty one?

This thread was the first result when I searched for the noisy fan issue on the Leadex III. Posting here is anyone else is looking into it. I'd say avoid it if possible, it is just too loud even at idle.
Mine was the 850W - Super Flower Leadex III 850W (ATX v3.1)
I returned it after a day of use. The fan is just too loud. It otherwise works normally, no other faults. Tried to give it a chance despite having looked up the Cybenetics results, which show the fan at 25-35 dBA at around the 50% load mark.
On switch/mode 0 and I the fan spins up rapidly every 5 minutes or so, even when the PC is idling. It's very annoying and loud.
On switch/mode II it spins constantly. I'm guessing it's at max RPM since it does not change it's speed at all, just constantly whooshing.
In both modes the fan spins at very high RPM, it's easily the noisiest of all the fans in the case. I have 3xP14 Max fans at \~1000 RPM each in a Frame 4000D, the PSU is easily the noisiest of all even on idle.

Hard to say, market's all screwed up at the moment (like most everything else).
Every manufacturer/brand has good and not so good PSUs. All depends on your budget, use case, availability, etc.
IMO, some good options right now (based on European prices) are:
- be quiet! Pure Power 13 M 850W ATX 3.1. Sub 100 Euro, if you can find it. Very low noise, very good performance, 10 years warranty. Top-selling on Geizhals. A bit of drama with them putting 85C bulk caps in some units, instead of 105C caps. Still has 10 years of warranty, so should be fine.
- ASRock Steel Legend SL-850G 850W ATX 3.1. Low noise, good performance, good quality components. 10 years warranty. Just over 100 Euro.
- Fractal Design Ion 3 Gold 850W ATX 3.1. Relatively affordable at the moment at \~100 Euro. 10 years warranty, good performance. Platform based on Seasonic GX, meaning alright quality, will be absolutely fine for 99% cases.
- Seasonic Focus GX ATX 3 (2024) GX-850 850W ATX 3.1. See the above. No major issues, relatively affordable.
- Cooler Master GX II Gold / MWE Gold V3 850W ATX 3.1. Similar to the above. Around 100 Euro. Good quality components, no major issues, 10 years warranty.
Check out SPL's PSU tier list. Has all sorts of useful info, ratings, explanations, links to reviews, etc.
Check out HardwareBusters and Cybenetics for detailed reviews and reports. It's mostly higher end stuff, but still lots of useful information.

Not yet but I will be buying it soon so if I remember I could tell you my experience with it in like a couple months :3
Tudi23@reddit
what was your experience?
helltouched@reddit (OP)
Great! No issues so far.

Really? No loud noises like it says? I wanted to buy the rm850e but i heard it has clicky noises, and now I want to get this super flower one but people say it has fan noises, what power supply am I supposed to buy

I saw people complaining about noise too, but it’s been quiet for me! My pc is not 100% silent but it makes little fan noise that is very easy to tune out, it’s also a very soft noise if that makes sense - doesn’t draw attention, and that might not even be from the PSU. Keep the noise complaints in mind when you choose what to buy, but my experience has been great so far!

Im going for the seasonic core gc750w psu, hopefully its enough for a rx9070 non xt

I've had this for a year and this issue randomly started happening a few days ago. With absolutely zero load (CPU idling at 36 deg C and GPU at 44) it will randomly go to 100% fan (I think) which produces a very loud, droning noise. Could be faulty but seems like there are many others who have the same issue so it might be good to avoid this.

If you haven't decided yet, many people are complaining about the eco mode not working. Mine was quiet for about a month. After a month, it started whistling =) It's inaudible through headphones
