Day pass usage in Budapest

Hi, when using a day pass do i need to check-in in every bus/tram/metro or do I have to validate once and be set for the day?

Validate once until it expires. However, sometimes at the entrance of the metro, random ticket inspections, or front boarding passes they’ll ask to see it.

Yeah I've never seen so many inspectors anywhere in Europe.
Not a problem as I will always buy a ticket.
I saw some travel YouTubers didn't realize theirs expired and got caught on the way out... The fine was their whole budget for the day. Serves them right.

The only time based tickets you should revalidate are the 30 and 60 minute ones because those allow you to board within the timeframe and remain onboard even if they expired

In case of paper-based travelcards, you can use them from your pre-set date and time. When asked, just show it to the inspectors/driver. However, in case of mobile tickets, you must scan your ticket(s) when boarding a front door boarding bus, and show the animation to the driver. (So using a mobile ticket is still a little bit more com
