8 pin connected not split bc my psu has 2 8 pins both are not spilt so can I plug a 8 pin in to a 4pin

I just ran into the same problem. My seasonic 750w came with 2 8 pins. What did you do by chance? I'm thinking of plugging the 8 pin into the 4.
Currently, I only have 1 8 pin connected into the cpu part. Idk if I should plug the 8 pin.

What’d you end up doing? I’ve got an old 8th gen intel board and the only power supply I had kicking around for my NAS build is an RM850X. Only CPU cables I could find were 8-pin.

I learned the extra 4 is if you want to overclock. So I only went and connected the 8 pin. I don't need the next power

Oh, I see. Yeah I meant the motherboard only had 4-pin CPU power, so I just connected the right side of an 8-pin into it. Works just fine.

Is it still working fine?

Yup.

What is the "right" side?

I've never seen a cpu power connector that couldn't be split. Makes me wonder what kind of psu you're using.
