For me, it was Monster Hunter: Worlds. I chased some chicken dinosaur thing for a few hours where all I did was chase it down, hit it a few times, do nothing, watch it run away, and repeat for an hour. Then I went to an actual mission or boss fight or something and I was too weak to beat the level but I couldn't go back to the normal area to level more. Most boring shit I've ever played. I don't know if I did something wrong or what, but the giant creatures made it seem more fun than it ended up being.
About the same here. Monster Hunter looks so cool and gets loads of hype, then the big gameplay climax is so flaccid. Walk around the arena, slowly dodge and get a couple hits in, then retreat and slooowly sharpen your weapon. Do this fifty times, then get a portion of a gear set. The sluggish gameplay felt so bad, with terrible menus within menus, that I refunded it.
I dunno, maybe if you like to get stoned and play zonked out it might be fine to pass the time, but it felt like it would take dozens of hours to get interesting.
What kind of games do you enjoy then? This one has its issues, but after the intro monsters its not slow at all. Sure you can stand around and get potshots in every minute, but the fun part is too get in, learn the moves and dodge, thats why different people kill the same boss in 7 or 15 minutes. I feel like to feel the game is slow you either have some adhd and play games like that, or decided to play in the safest most boring way possible on purpose
I thought the same, that there's prolly a good game in there somewhere but it's locked behind like 10-15 maybe 20 hours of boring shit and I had zero motivation to continue with it when I can just play something else
I thought it was going to be like that too but somehow it's just "hit monster few times, he runs, you chase, hit monster a few times, he runs, you chase..."
It doesn't do anything that I wanted from the MH franchise and I've been playing since MHFU.
There's just nothing to do. The fights are easy, there's nothing worth grinding for, and the fights aren't even fun since they last 7 minutes with subpar gear and the monster is staggered/stunned for half of that.
It's nothing interesting really, just see loads of people complaining "game 2 ez". I thought the same but knew it'd get harder with updates, and the more recent stuff defo fucks me up lmao
People complaining about content, demanding new monsters like a week after they put in a new monster. So they can fight it 3 times and then complain that they're bored again and there's no content.
The game is about.. you guessed it, hunting monsters. If people don't simply enjoy fighting the monsters then they aren't gonna enjoy playing it long term. Would be like complaining once you hit max level in a shooter that there's nothing to do, you keep playing because it's fun to play.
"This MH was better, that MH was better." This one I do get but also Wilds is very far from complete yet, World is my personal favourite but honestly each game is different in some way, not just same game but with better graphics etc. So there's a reason to go back and play each game instead of the newest game making the rest pointless.
If people like World more then go play it! There's nothing stopping you, they all feel different to play.
Games not perfect, I've got complaints but overall it's not a bad game and every update since launch has been FREE like normal. The MH devs clearly love their games and try to make them as good as possible, annoys me to see every comment about the game is complaining really. "Game too easy, not enough monsters, nothing to do, game now too hard, monsters 2 shot me, Battlefield 6 gonna sweep (??)"
Stupid rant over lmao, I never reply to negative comments I've seen so have just been building up thoughts.
But mostly I like the game, therefore everyone with different opinions is wrong.
The archtempereds are pretty tough, and the new nine-stars are kicking my ass, but there’s still only like nine monsters worth fighting. Pretty disappointing.
Capcom did a fantastic job with RE remakes imo. Why are they crying ? They are probably one of the few og game companies that deliver actual good games. Critics, ye. Retarded non-sense, no.
The pre-world games are really where the series shined. World was alright as a MH game, but wilds is trying too hard to cater to the mainstream audience. The classic case of trying to make a game for everyone, and ending up making it for nobody since the long-term MH fans don’t enjoy it, and new players are disinterested.

I purchased Wilds with the intent of finally trying a Monster Hunter game and getting into the franchise.
It was so god damn boring dude lol

No, you got it. They're fucking boring games. I get that some people love them, but I can't find the fun.

I thought they were just MMO raid bosses with more engaging combat mechanics.

On paper I can see how that would seem fun, like it's an actual endurance hunt, but gameplay wise that sounds so tedious.

update just made some monsters harder and added something to grind for, don't think people are gonna be hyped for something that's not new content

RE engine seems to work well with linear games like the remakes but completely break down on open worlds for some reason.
We have Dragon's Dogma 2 and now Monster Hunter Wilds as examples.
Arcane_Monkey@reddit
“Sir, we’ve optimized the engine for rendering dim, spooky hallways.”
“Make an open world game lmao.”

Bro, the engine running Wilds is called the RE engine, it has nothing to do with Resident Evil

This game lives and dies on gameplay
It has no story, no characters, musics are whatever, graphics are usually lagging 5 years behind
If the performance isn't good enough to make the gameplay enjoyable, the gameplay is virtually a 4/10
