Tiny wheels
MoreThanComrades@reddit
Average American reaction when a truck is a sensible size "How oddly strange is this contraption"
SuperKaijuGaming2@reddit (OP)
I'm not from fucking USA
lRainZz@reddit
Americans can't grasp the concept of "efficient". Everything needs to be oversized to be useful it seems.
SuperKaijuGaming2@reddit (OP)
I'm not american
nisbet@reddit
As a European I don’t see a lot of weirdness here 😅
korfi2go@reddit
Yeah, the only unusual thing is that bright orange paint job.
fredololololo@reddit
Not weird at all, in Germany most of the garbage trucks have that color.
Miserable-Assistant3@reddit
And most of road construction trucks
korfi2go@reddit
This is not a garbage truck, though
fredololololo@reddit
I'm sure it's one. Fresh from the Benz factory and before the rear loader was installed.
Rc72@reddit
Yup, it even has the orange flashing lights on top of the cabin already installed.
Rc72@reddit
Those are really common, unexceptional trucks in Europe. The wheels may seem small for US standards, but they help achieve a tight turning radius, which is useful for small streets. As someone has already noted, the first one is clearly intended to be equipped as a garbage truck...
MRDR1NL@reddit
Nah that first one is not intended as a garbage truck. Just a tractor for roadworks (based on the color). Garbage trucks are not orange in the Netherlands. And you can see it has a fifth wheel (or whatever you call the part that the trailer mounts to).

Found the tiny frame of reference.
JakeyAB@reddit
Is this weird? Looks fairly normal to me!
Jolly_Virus_3533@reddit
First truck is for high volume low mass loads. second one is common for supermarket deliverys.
sultan_of_gin@reddit
I’ve driven an Atego, decent truck but i prefer Scania
korfi2go@reddit
On the first one you can clearly see the EU numberplate...
gardenfella@reddit
With NL on it = Dutch
SuperKaijuGaming2@reddit (OP)
Oh, it's because I searched Tractor head, and I thought it was an Asian term, just realized the EU sign
Rubik842@reddit
It's got all the lines and grace of a pumpkin on a skateboard.
SuperKaijuGaming2@reddit (OP)
Wait it actually looks like
