New Velotric Fold 1 Plus Chain Rub

Just got a new Velotric Fold 1 Plus for my daughter and out of the box the chain is rubbing on the chain guard in several places. There doesn’t seem to be any adjustment. I can probably add a washer behind the screw that attaches to the chain guard to create enough space but was wondering if there was another fix.

Remove that chain guard and install a chain guide on the seat post tube.

Why is that? Any specific one you’d recommend?

Because you'll get more benefit from guide(which prevents chain from coming off chainring) than guard(which prevents pants from getting dirty by chain).
Which is a matter of taste, get the cheapest they all work the same.
