Built a tiny tool to share e-bike rides & trails — no signups, just a link

Hey folks,
When I got into e-biking last year, I quickly found myself planning rides from all over — YouTube channels, Strava heatmaps, Komoot suggestions — and making my own GPX routes to explore.
The problem?
Sharing those routes with friends was a pain.
They’d need to sign up for apps, download software, or dig through features they didn’t care about… just to see where we were going.
So I built something small and simple for my own rides: TrailDrop 🚴♂️
- Upload a GPX → get an instant link
- Friends can open it on phone or desktop and see map, slope, elevation, distance/gain
- No signups, no installs — just the route
It’s been handy for planning group rides — I’ve used it to send routes to people who don’t even own a GPS device but still want to preview the trail before deciding to join.
If you use a Garmin, Wahoo, or other GPS for your e-bike rides, I’d love to know:
- How do you currently share routes?
- Would something like this make it easier with your riding group?
Here’s the link if you want to test it with one of your GPX files: https://traildrop.app/
(Mods: Not selling anything — just sharing a tool I made for my own rides and looking for feedback from fellow e-bikers.)

Any reason this couldn’t be for regular bikes, hiking/walking, etc …?

Yep — it’s not e-bike specific at all. Works for any GPX file, so hiking, MTB, road cycling, trail running… basically anything with a GPS track. I just happened to build it because I ride an e-bike, but it’s meant to be sport-agnostic.
