Would you go for 5060 ti 8gb or 9060 xt 16gb?

For me rn they both have good deals on but im not sure which to go for. Nvidia has their own better features and the 5060 ti generally has better performance before vram limits i think, but the 9060 xt has 16gb vram and maybe thats worth more? Its for 1440p but not really triple aaa games, apart from the new battlefield. Thanks for any advice :D

I had an 8gb 5060ti and it was the biggest pile of dogshit iv ever plugged into a pc. Now I have the 16gb 5060 and honestly it's still shitty. Have a ryzen 7 5800x3d and 64 gb of ram and I average 80 to 95 fps. Get the 9060 xt.

what abt those who say DLSS is better than FSR? im in a tough spot between 5060ti 8gb and 9060xt 16gb. both new pc builds with 5 7500f are similar in price. i play esports titles mainly.

Iv never messed with FSR so I couldn't say if its better or not but with the 16gb of vram on the 9060 you will see better fps.

Even at its lowest settings at 1440p, BF6 was pushing 6-7gb VRAM on my 3080. 5060ti 8gb is not going to survive at 1440p if you even care about playing anything other than low settings on everything lol
8gb GPUs can maybe be viable purchase for 1080p depending on the games you play and settings you use.. but for 1440p it’s out of the question

Idk if I believe that. I def turned some settings down for higher frames, but with dlss on performance I wouldn't say I was at the lowest settings to achieve 140fps on my 34" 1440 monitor.

In this video when he switched to 1440p low settings, I got the same 6gb and some change estimation right before he went back into the game. his overlay is actually reading more VRAM usage than the estimation
VRAM limitations won’t drastically FPS, but it can cause weird things in game like textures taking forever to load or things disappearing

Honestly I'm not sure what my vram usage was at, I was just simply replying off of the fps. I'd be interested to know now though. I didn't have the in game overlay on. I'll have to check when it goes live again tomorrow

Well check tomorrow because I’m curious to know what 3440x1440p is pushing at. Depending how much VRAM your card has, my guess is 8gb minimum even at the lowest setting. I set the game up on my 3840x1600p 144hz for a bit but I didn’t check the VRAM estimation
FPS is not an issue. I was also getting 160-180fps on the 3080 everything low, DLSS ultra performance. Enough for my 1440p 240hz monitor and GSYNC to work nicely.

I was at 4.1gb according to Windows 11 Task Manager under Details and Dedicated GPU Memory (you have to add the column), and it was accurate to what it was saying in game. They maybe optimized this patch a bit more, because I was definitely pushing 6gb+ before with the same low everything settings. So you being at 6.5gb with 1440p ultrawide makes sense. Is everything set to low?
I did notice for some reason DLSS is gone, which has tanked my FPS to around 110-120. A little too low for my liking.
I also noticed that whatever dwm.exe is, was taking up 1.1gb of VRAM. I closed wallpaper engine and it dropped to 0.7gb, but it's kind of wild whatever this is is taking that much VRAM. Not sure if you have it taking up a lot too. This might explain why that youtube video overlay reading was higher than what in-game was saying. Other stuff taking up VRAM.

I have the textures on high as well as another texture setting. The rest is on medium or low (a mix, I'd have to look more indepth when I get back on). But yes dlss is not available and it's a big they are aware of, but funny enough, using fsr I was getting closer to 150 fps! I have a slight undervolt on my GPU through afterburner as well which could effect performance. I heard the game is CPU heavy too, and I have a 7700x which is great for 1440. May be another factor.

If you’re attached to Nvidia, that’s totally fine, but just spend the extra 80 bucks and get the 16gb version. It’s really, truly a stupid move to spend that much money on an 8gb card. The resale value alone makes it worth it to get the 16gb model.

No one should be buying a new card that has only 8gb of VRAM.
If you get the 8gb card you’ll be turning down settings on day 1 that your card has the horsepower to run but can’t purely because of the lack of VRAM. This will only get worse over the next few years you expect to keep the card.

9060 xt 16gb with 0 doubt. 8gb will be far from enough for 1440p especially more demanding titles. I am using one right now. Plays battlefield V at 120fps ish no issue. Ofc it's not the new battlefield 6 beta but I assumed it would help. I do play on dx11 instead of dx12 which lower my overall framerate. I won't tolerate the seconds long waits that dx12 create tho.
