God damn the all OD looks amazing, anyone have a list of this for folks wanting to clone the drip?
Sigsauer001@reddit
Danner Acadias Nomex Flyers coveralls (no knife pocket) Eagle industries Pistol belt, Safariland 3004 for a 1911 ABA M4/SMG mag pouch, CQBE AVS Drop GP pouch, DIY Lanyard CQBE AVS vest, SMG/Pistol pouch, M4/SMG pouch, Less lethal Pouch, GP large Pouch Nomex Balaclava a Koman PBI works well enough) Nomex flight gloves PASGT with Green RBR Suspensio
That_Somewhere_4593@reddit
So he carried both 9mm and .45 ammo? Or did they make a .45 mp5?
Sigsauer001@reddit
Yes, the Magazine pouches carried both their SMG and sidearm pouches, the pouch on his lower left side has 4 MP5 and (from other photos of him) have up to 8 Wilson combat mags inside, 2 shoved into each pouch slot, normally it's 4, and the upper right hand pouch has the ability to carry around 4 MP5 mags (it can be done but will rattle), and 2 sidearm mags
Yeet0rBeYote@reddit
If he was carrying loose ammo at all, it would be 9mm. But chances are he probably just kept plenty of mags loaded for each. Even today guys with pistols will only run 3-4 mags for them. It’s not like you were going to run out of ammo for the MP5 and have to supplement ammo from your pistol mags.
Sigsauer001@reddit
Only Grip is that predates the M45, it would be an Early MEUSOC 1911. Custom work from Springfield armory
Vodnik-Dubs@reddit
Bulky as hell ACH and mp5 are such a vibe
bardleh@reddit
That's no ACH, that right there is a PASGT classic
GaegeSGuns@reddit
4 point suspension l. That’s an LWH.
Sigsauer001@reddit
That's a photo from 1998, they're using essentially an RBR helmet suspension that's Green with a Black rubber chincup, I've been in contact with Robert Blanton (the Marine in the photo) and have been working on trying to clone his kit as closely as I can
8fulhate@reddit
The LWH wasn't a thing until it began development in 1999 and didn't actually start getting issued until 2003. If this pic was taken in the 1990's, it was probably a PASGT.
GaegeSGuns@reddit
Then its not the 90s.

I always thought "why does the military insist on lanyard loops for sidearms??? it's not like you're going to loop it around your wrist?"
yeah, ships at sea, that makes complete sense actually
He-She-We_Wumbo@reddit
Everyone thinks a lanyard loop on a modern pistol is silly and an antiquated holdover from the army of yesteryear. What, am I going to have my Webly on a lanyard to a belt above my belly button so I can go over the top, charging the Hun and blowing a whistle?
Some think this way right up until the moment one of your Soldiers improperly secures a pistol to his kit on top of your turret during tank gunnery, then at 3 in the morning, he identifies that it is no longer on the tank, so you close down the range, and the entire Company starts walking the range road in about a 3 mile loop with shovels checking under every track mark for this guy's pistol until the sun comes up and the other Company is trying to shoot and your boss has to tell his boss they haven't found the pistol yet and you're wondering if we can get Engineer dig assets out to dig up the tank trails then you find the pistol right before the range goes hot. I always lanyard my pistol.
Harrythehobbit@reddit
So how long did it take for that soldier to get murdered in his sleep?
kremlingrasso@reddit
Metal detector wouldn't help in this case?
brondynasty@reddit
Or even just a commercial-strength magnet, goddamn.
IridiumPony@reddit
That was pretty specific lol
C6R882@reddit
But what if I need to throw it at someone?
redditshopping00@reddit
sonny these modern tupperware guns don't have the knock down power of a good old reliable 19-lebben, let me tell you, why I heard some special ops delta force seal had to throw his tupperware gun at a tally ban and it just bounced right offa him! back in my day, if you threw your 19-lebben back in ko-rea, boy you'd knock him down so hard he'd wake up a month later and apologize!
lettelsnek@reddit
historically the lanyards were also used often on horseback by officers
fordag@reddit
The original 1911 magazines had lanyard loops on the bottoms as well for cavalry.
bobbobersin@reddit
Uses to be an airsoft referee, had a TT-33 and all the mags have them as well, I rarely liked to hit check (i thought it was lazy, id just send them back if I caught them from the tower and would shadow them if I was walking the floor and then call them if i saw them eat) id keep it and 3 magazines on a wire on a carabiner clipped to the ladder
redditshopping00@reddit
fair point, but like the glock 19x was what I was picturing
bobbobersin@reddit
"Sarge I droped my sidearm on the deck and it slid off into the drink" "eye, the sea be a cruel mistress laddy, that be the third pistol this week"
Rob_Cartman@reddit
It makes it harder to lose and stops insurgents from taking it out of the holster and shooting you in the back.
Utility-Helicopter@reddit
Everything about this is beautiful and serene
krayons213@reddit
MEUSOC??? That’s an old .45 probably refurbished at an aging armory.
FeedbackOther5215@reddit
That’s exactly what the MEUSOC 1911s were. There have been pictures of them using WW1 era frames to build up.
atomiccheesegod@reddit
?? The offical name for a MEUSOC pistol is a M45…
FeedbackOther5215@reddit
Lack of coffee. Was thinking of the A1 m45s that were Colt rail guns, apologies!
John_cCmndhd@reddit
Wow, I wonder how big of a battery they had to drag around for those...
MastuhWaffles@reddit
drip is immaculate
Activision19@reddit
I used to work with a former recon marine from this era. He said the MP5 he was issued was his favorite gun.
dr_xenon@reddit
Did he hit the sea?
aGlazedHam@reddit
He did, it was a bit salty about the whole thing.
DetroitAdjacent@reddit
He was probably shooting at garbage.

the_old_coday182@reddit
What was that, ocean? Did you just threaten our freedom??
alexlongfur@reddit
Zach Hazard can be heard crying in the background because they won’t let him order an MP5…
danthemememans@reddit
i would too…
