I don't know about this product. It's priced so high, you are definitely better off grabbing a 25% more expensive 5090 with a vapor chamber and give it a ~450W power target.
If I have 1650€ I definitely also have 2100€ for a GPU.
While decibels are quite close for both perf/quiet BIOSes on noctua to the Astral quiet BIOS, the GPU temperature is 6C lower with quiet BIOS on noctua and a whopping 12C lower on both GPU/memory with the perf BIOS.
The noctua perf BIOS still has lower dBs than the Astral.
I am not expert, but I don't think it should affect much. Since these are just the GPU temperatures and I think other components on the PCB will degrade faster.
I am using a AMD HD 6870 card from 2010 as backup card for testing stuff but not for playing games. So 15 years for a card to work is not impossible.
That is if you get RTX 5080 for 1000$, most of them are above 1,200$.
The 1000$ cards have no regular supply and pop up here and there for very small supply, that is 6 1/2 months of release date. So 1000$ is marketing number, real MSRP 1200-1250$ - what you can actually get right now. Don't get me wrong 1500$ is insane asking price (if that will be the actual price), but you've been fooled to believe that 1000$ is MSRP - it's not, and MSRP for Nvidia means shit.
It depends on where, in the US that's largely been true but in a lot of Europe the 5070 Ti has been in demand and had its price inflated while the 5080 has been available for at or near MSRP.
Pricing is starting to settle on the 5070 Ti but it was priced close enough to make the 5080 worth it in some countries for awhile.
why the fuck you care about price to performance? this specific type of product usualy cater to enthusiast and aesthetic focus build, price to performance is not the concern, if you really want to go full price to performance look somwhere else, like pny zotac and colorful.
The only attractive part here, is that it uses standard 120x25 mm fans, so if you need to replace them, it's not as big of a hassle as with the GPU specific ones (easier and faster to get replacements for). Not that I expect a Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 120 mm fan to require replacement anytime soon unless you're very unlucky.
So really the only thing you're paying for is the branding.
the whole design looks pretty bad as well imho. They should have gone all in on the noctua color scheme and not try to work around with with a dark gray shroud and red highlights.. The design asus came up with would look more coherent with black noctua fans
Just for this would be a big motivation to buy this...
As expected, cooling performance is outstanding, the card runs extremely quiet, reaching only 24 dBA, which is quieter than whisper quiet. It's so quiet that you'll struggle to hear the card's noise in a silent room, with only the GPU fans running and all other components being passive—remember this is at full gaming load at RTX 5080 speeds, not idle!
For some people, they don't care so much about money. This is special product that is aimed for very specific audience, that prefer near silent PC.
Or you can pay even more for water coiling of GPU but that would probably cost even more and have other disadvantages, like water pump noise, or reliability after x years.

20% 2000€hahahahahaha. 2600-3000€ ist wohl etwas realistischer
Substantial-Singer29@reddit
The biggest problem is that they put all of this On a card that's probably one of the worst value statements this generation to begin with.
200 to 500+ more for less than fourteen percent uplift. The 5080 Is best described as a 5070ti super In performance with a ridiculous price attached.
tetchip@reddit
The other insane aspect here is that you could have had more performance for roughly the same money three years ago by buying a 4090.

Az alacsony hőfok egyenlő a hosszabb élettartammal? Egy teljesen optimális, karbantartott Noctua build esetén elképzelhető a +15 év?

So basically you pay 50% for brand value lol.

getting a 5080 here for ~1000eur isn't difficult. I could buy one right now for 1029. I got my 5090 for 2050eur.
chewiebonez02@reddit
And that is nearly 1200 USD.
TryHardEggplant@reddit
€1029 also includes 19% VAT, where the US prices don't include sales tax.

It the most quiet air cooled RTX 5080 out there. So it's not just brand value. But very close to it, yeah.
Frexxia@reddit
Isn't that every high end GPU SKU? You're always paying a lot more for barely any gain in performance.
kikimaru024@reddit (OP)
I guess technically a bit less, TUF is ~$1265 according to PCPartPicker.
THXFLS@reddit
If it's actually $1500 it's not the worst deal in the world considering the Suprim and Astral are $1700 and $1800.
Sevastous-of-Caria@reddit
Noise normalised performance? Best case scenario at this point.

This shows how much cooling quality has improved in recent gens. It's barely better than the other premium models.

I'll wait for the RTX Thermalright version. It will cost less, perform the same and there will be thirty different versions to choose from.

I got my 5080 Aero for 1050€ on a sale without VAT here in Europe, I would definitely not get for this price.
I would rather go for the 5090 FE at this point

You can make something very similar with like $30-40 worth of 3D printed stuff from Etsy and then supply 3 of your own NF-A12x25 G2s.
elbobo19@reddit
that is some crazy impressive cooling to noise performance but 50% over MSRP which you can actually find 5080s at now in the US is asking a LOT
lutel@reddit
It should have price matching MSI 5080 Suprim as it offers similar noise reduction
