Turn on secure boot, won’t post to bios

Got a curly one.
Older build, B550 Aorus Elite V2. Son wants to play Battlefield 6, needs secure boot.
Go into bios, turn on secure boot. Reboot.
Nothing. PC starts, then just sits with CPU fan pulsing. No post.
No problem, I think, just reset bios using CMOS header pins. No change.
Hmm, let’s try taking the battery out. Done. Wait 5 minutes. Put it back in, replace GPU. And …. no change. Still no post.
Scratching my head. Thoughts? Should I D/L latest bios and Q-Flash?

I had almost the exact same problem a couple of days ago. What solved it for me was to reset the CMOS (i did both the battery remove and pin jump just to be sure) while the pc was unplugged AND with Psu cable disconnected from the motherboard.
After that i booted with a Windows Image in a flash drive and reinstalled Windows. It worked fine.

I’ve done the reset (both battery and jumper) with PSU unplugged.
I can’t boot to anything as it won’t post to bios. That’s the problem.

yeah I was unable to post to bios as well, until I did the reset with the psu unplugged. After that I was able to access the bios and do a Windows fresh install.
Sorry it didn't work for you, hope you find a fix soon!

Appreciate the follow up, help working through tricky troubleshooting just to keep thoughts flowing.
I’ll try flashing with latest bios next bit if that fails, then yep I’ll pull down the build and test component by component.

Did you find a fix for this?

Yeh, turns out was a damaged CPU pin. I recalled when I was pulling it down and spotted the RAM wasn’t in the ideal slots I couldn’t get it to boot when building it with RAM in the right slots. The CPU had a damaged pin which I assume was the cause.
No idea why turning on secure boot causes it to brick but I guessed it was connected.
So I upgraded the CPU. Bam, fixed. Booted up first go.

Alright thanks I’ll give that a look.

Remove the GPU and try booting with the iGPU.

I tried this soon after I posted, still no post.

That's an impressively broken firmware, then. Try flashing the latest BIOS.

Hah yep! Will flash it tonight.

Your drive shoud be GPT and not MBR to load with Secure Boot

It’s not posting to bios.
