Can somebody explain to me the different Engine positions (Front, Mid, Rear), The pros and cons of them and the when they are mostly used.

I know the obvious things like that it gives better control around corners because of the extra weight on either side but other than that im clueless on why they are mounted in different places. I do know that supercars have a mid engine but i never understood why. If anybody could help it would be appreciated :)

The benefit is weight distribution. Front-engine cars tend to have most of their weight over the front wheels because that's where the engine is. This design leads to handling issues but can be mitigated with suspension. Mid-engine cars move the engine behind the driver, between the front and rear wheels, thereby spreading the weight more evenly which makes the car handle better. This design is usually much more expensive to produce though and limits space in the passenger compartment.

Not always, there are mid engine cars that have the engine placed behind the front axle and in front of the driver. Still mid-engine with a different configuration. Example: The Lister race car http://www.damdrivingschool.com/media/Photos/ListerPosterPrintWEB.jpg

And the gt86/brz, mx5, rx7/8, s2k, etc.
