Can someone ID the rifle on the left? Looks like some type of QBZ-191 like the one on the right.

They even camo’d the shoes lol
Still_Ad_9974@reddit
For anyone curious how to get some just because or you like them, search PLA wushu liberation shoes. They're like $30
HefferVids@reddit
Cool to know thanks! You know if they’re good quality at all?
Still_Ad_9974@reddit
I have no idea, I posted this shortly after I found them, im getting some myself, probably the shoes and boots honestly considering the price
HefferVids@reddit
Actually goated comment my bf would love these thank you!
WuhanWTF@reddit
Looks even worse than the CADPAT boots.
Useless_Fox@reddit
I know they're not Vans, but the idea of the PLA being dripped out in camo Vans is hilarious lol
David_88888888@reddit
Canvas sneakers were issued to Nationalist Chinese troops during & after WW2. The communists started producing copies for the PLA not soon after.

"Yo bro check out ma drip" ahh moment
McStupidy@reddit
Came to admire them kicks too

If you can't find the shoes that flew off maybe technically they're not dead yet

What's that display on top of the left rifle. An ammo counter, kill counter?
Few_Carpenter_9185@reddit
It certainly looks like it might be an OLED display, doesn't it?
It also might, if not actually more likely, just be some sort of light green on dark green Armory ID rack tag or something else similar, though.
The arguments against it being an actual digital display:
It is in an utterly inappropriate & useless spot for the user/operator.
It's in a spot where it could have an unwanted light signature towards the enemy OPFOR.
What purpose would such a display serve, especially with mo optics or associated "smart functions?" Round counter? Barrel heat or round count estimation for swappable quick change barrels? (This is obviously an LMG/SAW, with optional magazine & belt feeds, as others noted here in the thread.)
There's usually some rubber chicklet/membrane switch buttons to activate/deactivate the display and scroll/select its functions.
Xaixar@reddit
it also looks to be absent from every picture of the weapon i can find. i think it's either a tag, like you said or (although it wouldn't really make sense considering the lighting conditions in the photo) the light reflecting in a certain way. a display of any kind does indeed seem highly unlikely.
Xaixar@reddit
other thoughts:
perhaps some kind of IR reflecting plate for IFF, night training or tracking with drones (seems quite a bit farfetched, but retroreflective objects are used in different scenarios even on small arms.)
or more likely, some kind of logistics/training instrumentation related tag, considering i can't see it elsewhere. it's also a very new gun so it might be standard at this point.
Few_Carpenter_9185@reddit
Yeah. Something... anything makes more sense than an LED/OLED display. Just a weird random look or glow, whatever that is, has in that particular photo. I definitely agree.
And yeah, the retroreflective bead tape, in plastic dyed to filter/block all but near-IR so it's dark/subdued for uniform & helmet friendly recognition tabs/patches, or even "FIND YOUR WEAPON ASAP!" just for or yourself wearing NVD's is definitely a thing.

I would’ve thought that anyone who posted in this Reddit would’ve been able to spot the telltale signs of a modern light machine gun: elongated receiver with massive feed mechanism, plus barrel over gas system, heavier barrel, etc.
And those are kung fu shoes, not vans.
TomShoe@reddit
People come to things with different levels of knowledge, but you're right, those are tell-tale signs once you know what you're looking at.

Why did norinco have to try to sell rocket launchers to gang bangers in the 80s bro 😭
Panthean@reddit
I need to find a woman that looks at me the way this PLA soldier looks at his comrade

Reminded me of this video (ignore the shitty music)
Initial-Top8492@reddit
The left kinda looks like a SAW.
bozo_master@reddit
What country’s soldiers are those
mergelong@reddit
From the flag insignia on their arms, PLAAF.
bozo_master@reddit
Thanks
RamTank@reddit
That's definitely green, so army.
CyberSoldat21@reddit
QJB-201 as someone else mentioned. Slick looking light machinegun / infantry support weapon.
TomShoe@reddit
As far as I understand, it uses a combination gas/recoil system similar to the SIG XM250, which the Chinese have been using on .50 calibre heavy machine guns since the 1980s.
CyberSoldat21@reddit
Hopefully it works for them and hopefully it operates smoothly with the magazine feed
Self_Voodoo@reddit
What camo is this??? Its a vibe and I love it with the camo'd out shoes
Climb_Mt_Narodnaya@reddit
Type 19 “Starry Sky” jungle
HefferVids@reddit
It’s like AK meets space marine and I’ll take three!
sumdudewitquestions@reddit
the gun on the left has a top cover that can accept belts, definitely not a 191
kilojoulepersecond@reddit
QJB-201 LMG. It can feed from mags or belts
