2012 Mazda 5 need to replace film covering readout on dashboard. Do you know what it is called so I can search for it?

Hi all I'm trying to milk all I can out of my 2012 car. As you can see from the photo the strip covering my dash read out is melting off. Without the strip, it is just a blank red screen. Does anyone know what this covering strip is called? Thank you so much!

LCD polarizer film. You can buy sheets of it off Amazon and cut to fit.

Make sure to cut it in the right orientation

Can we assume the orientation or do we ask it?

We always ask. It is important to let it tell its story.

Hold the full sheet in front of the powered on display and turn it until you can see the display characters.
Or just be polite and ask.

This is exactly what i would do.

If you are looking for the whole replacement piece, look like its Part Number: CG39611J0. 2012 Mazda 5. Vehicle Information Display Screen.
Used one here:

My Mazda5 got totaled in 2017 and I miss it every day :(

I don't know anything about the polarizing strips the other comments are talking about, maybe that's cheaper, but used parts are pretty cheap on eBay

I think you can custom cut one from a broken TV it's just a polarizer lens

So I don’t think that is a film covering the display, but might be plastic over the display itself. Maybe contacting a salvage yard to see if they have a replacement?

It looks like the polariser film of the display
