Bought a Henry Big Boy Steel . 44 and it has these at the butt and near the handgrip. Looking for a sling but can't properly describe what this is, can anyone help me?
High_Anxiety_1984@reddit
That is similar to my Ruger 10/22 sling mount. Got the sling at Academy Sports.

Solid slings that won’t break the bank. I own two and they pair very well with Henry.

Check out Brass Tacker https://www.tgrenterprises.com/ Hand made leather rifle slings with all hardware needed.

I love that in life I've saddled a transitional period of people who lived by this sling mount and those who have no clue at all what it is.
Uncle Mike's is the company youre looking for.
evergladescowboy@reddit
Are these not still the default sling mount point?
MinchiaTortellini@reddit
I would say the push button QD, universal QD wire loop, and HK style sling clips have all surpassed it.
evergladescowboy@reddit
Interesting. I guess having parents born in 1940 and liking the same period guns as my father colored my experiences.
FlashCrashBash@reddit
I’d say they’re the standard on hunting/traditional sporting guns. Anything with a pic rail gets a QD socket or a paraclip.
Carcano_Supremacy@reddit
When were these introduced?
I’ve known of them for my whole life! I am aware of other sling mounts but still.
MinchiaTortellini@reddit
I could be wrong but I believe 1947 by Uncle Mike's.
lil_johnny_cake@reddit
that's a "sling stud;" its a universal sling mount and anything that uses "sling swivels" should mount right up.
wildraft1@reddit
This is correct. It's literally the most common sling mount there is.
gokartninja@reddit
That's a swivel stud. You could get a sling that mounts on to studs, or you could get sling swivels and install a sling on those

So I got some Magpul sling mounts then put a Q G-Sling on mine. Works great. I really like Q's G-Slings and have slowly been switching out all my slings. You can buy them directly from Q for about $80 after shipping or find them on Ebay for around $55 shipped.

Point being Uncle Mike's at Walmart are $10 and change, 5,000 locations across the US. More of them on the shelf ready to purchase than any other supplier, within a few miles of a preponderance of the population.
Proven to work - and rattle on a wood or polymer stock - for over 50 years now. As for being in an interesting nexus, yes - if you are over 45, they are very familiar, under 35, my not have ever seen any. This leads to a generation like we were - no idea about black powder rifles but look what happened in the 70's-80's, that part of the market exploded. Separate gun season for deer, etc.
Now? Obscure niche market. Show a younger shooter a carry pack with BP bullets and pellets they wonder where the case is. Show them a Lee handloader at the same time and really mess with them. Generations have gotten very insular with little cross over to the bigger perspective. Like, Glock or 1911 owners arguing 9mm or 45ACP. Best to leave them arguing at the other end of the gun case.

I bought one of the leather slings from the Henry outfitters site for mine, I wanted to maintain the aesthetic. Very basic but it works. Any standard sling will work though, just avoid any that use QD push button studs.
This the sling model I picked up. It’s very stiff but once it’s fully broken in it’ll be great! https://henryoutfitters.com/collections/accessories/products/duluth-pack-henry-rifle-sling

You need sling swivels...then you can pick your poison for a sling. You could also look at a safari sling.

Uncle Mikes (the brand)

If you can’t find a sling for that stud you should probably sell all your firearms and die your hair blue. Good lord you. An walk into any Walmart or farm store and find a dozen options

Clearly is learning. Y’all can be brutal. Buy once cry once, ask Reddit first. Makes sense to me.

I like the Quake Claw

Just posted same above, direct from BPI.
Got their strap too, for the rifle bag.

That’s a sling stud. You’ll need a sling swivel to attach the sling to the stud.
BetOver@reddit
It's for the old school sling mounts that existed before mlok etc. A standard rifle sling should do the trick just google a bit

then add sling

I've seen these in Walmart. You might wanna check there.
DarthMonkey212313@reddit
For future reference the parts I linked are "sling swivels", the part in your picture is a "sling swivel stud".
PbCuSurgeon@reddit
What you need to look for is a stud style sling loop
