You’re right a lot of people did. I’m 52 so by the time I was in my teens in the late 80’s nobody I knew had a record player. They were all tapes by then and cds started coming in. I don’t even think any of the stores even had a record section at all by that time. My friends and I just referred to whatever store it was by its name.

They are taking dead malls, ripping out one of the anchor stores and converting it into condos or apartments. Then filling the mall with easy to reach shops, restaurants, and grocery.

Me neither. It was like walking into a magical place where literally everything was cool af. The multi-design carpet, along with the token dispensers, were just the beginning. When I'm finally in a position where I'll be able to design my own king-sized man cave it's going to be just like the arcade at my closest mall (It was called the "Dream Machine") except with a full bar and life-sized television where the players in the Super Bowl are just as big as you are. I'm missing something, but I just can't put my finger on it. Any ideas?

The best part??? We take turns. We don't disparage anyone else's choices when it's not our turn. And we trade. I don't mind laundry! I hate driving. So, Jennifer loves driving, and hates laundry! Done and done! Joe likes snow, and has a dog. Pete doesn't mind being cold, and will absolutely take Loki (the dog) for his early morning walk.

I really feel like the sense of community has been a bit lost, and GenX would be rather great at it.

I have recently retired and a little earlier than expected, I can say the first year has been a holiday but I'm coming to the understanding that if you don't have a plan for retirement you could end up climbing the walls. I was speaking with my neighbour who retired abruptly and he validated my experience, the first year was great but after that you start climbing the walls if you don't have hobbies etc. It may sound harder than it actually is, if you're not prepared for retirement it could be a bumpy ride. I can understand why people can go down hill (well documented) when they do retire as they suddenly don't have a purpose in life or any more goals. Food for thought!
