I have one of these robbed the carrier to run in my KAC upper to keep my Sandcutter pristine , the performance is the same as the KAC and the coating is durable and easy to clean , I can confirm that the gas run is chrome plated I paid 129 . the 99 is a bargain

Without any experience and not many reviews out. Ittt might be good?
Pros * It's not Nickel Boron, it is a different coating of NiP * It is noted as having chrome lining. Remember, the problem with NiB and nitride bolts is if they're made to be chrome lined, and then a much thinner coating is used – that creates an inefficient tolerance. * They make another version that's PVD at $150 without sand cuts, and then they make this in standard phosphate at $120 so this is a sale price
Cons * Similar to Nickel Boron so maybe not as good as a chrome bolt at $100, but if you care about sand cuts this is cheap for that. Would a chrome version, or Luxe for a few bucks more with OCKS screws be better? * No reviews so again, you're banking on this being good quality vs microbest (they do make quite a few bolts and none look like crap) * They make a couple other items NPE including a Schmid 2 stage trigger – which in NiB has been as low as $40-45 sooo theirs at $125 – do they price things super high? The SOLGW 2-stage is schmid as well but it's a custom forged trigger that I kinda like the shape (and is custom made to their patent, not just custom coated), and the whole thing is DLC coated for similar price...

DSArms manufactures decent stuff. Myself and a couple buddies have a small variety of parts, as well as complete factory rifles, from them with no issues.

Yeah they've been around a bit I'd say, not the first time I've heard their name but they aren't well known. Just one of those deals where, "yes I think it's a decent deal, but for the same price would I rather have a chrome microbest with OCKS screws, or pay $120 for a DLC version with OCKS screws" and the answer is yes. But everyone is different, I have a couple sand rails bolts – however I have never seen a need for one. I have never had a bolt hang up where I said "shit, if only I had my sand rails bolt in this wouldn't have happened"

Where does one find these other bolts you mention?
Trope360@reddit
They get posted here if you search the sub. KAK, WCarmory, Arftac I'd recommend, and one other guy tend to post them all the time here in that $100-110 range, generally a blem is going to be a hair cheaper for you. /u/wcarmory is a great guy and I would order this bolt from him personally if you want a good Chrome, or watch his posts – he's OOS for the blem DLC's for $109 but he just ran a sale.

Thanks!

I have a couple of these. I don't have a lot of rounds on them, but I really like them.
At $99, I think they are a great value for what you get.

Never seen nickel phosphate before, but the way they describe it makes it sound like np3. Anyone got experience with these bcgs or ones like them?
accounts_baleeted@reddit
Nickel Phosphate has no ptfe Teflon in it. It is the standard old school electroless nickel coating. The fact that they say it's nickel Phosphate with Teflon just makes me disappointed that they give zero shits about being accurate with their description of their own product.
Where it stands in the nickel boron shit - np3 goat spectrum I have no idea.
TheFireOfPrometheus@reddit
Isn’t electroless nickel= NIckel Boron ?
iFightForOurRights@reddit
My understanding is that Nickel Boron (NiB) is a type of electroless nickel plating, but not all electroless nickel plating uses boron as an alloy in the nickel.
In this case DSArms is using nickel phosphate, which would be NiP.

Interesting
iFightForOurRights@reddit
Based on my brief research, I'd say that NiB and NP3 are significantly better for a BCG than nickel phosphate (NiP) due to their wear resistance and lubricity.
The only area where NiP would be superior to those two would be in corrosion resistance.
Heryos39@reddit
I have one and it looks identical to my sionics and KAK np3 carriers, it looks nothing like the nib ones I've had in the past. I just assumed the phosphate part was referring to the bolt itself and not the carrier, could be wrong though
akmjolnir@reddit (OP)
I've had one of their standard sand-cut BCGs since they came out, and it's worked with no issues in my main SS rifle.
I figured I'd buy one of these to run in another SS lower, and hope it's easier to clean.
