No official gay bars in Plano, but most bars will be gay friendly. There are some exceptions I’m sure.
Good bars depends on the asker, I’m partial to the following:
Ringo’s Pub in shops at legacy
Holy Grail Pub bordering Frisco off Preston
Union Bear in granite park (it is a brewpub but their house beers actually don’t suck).
Austin Avenue sports bar on Parker is probably the best sports bar in the city, but unfortunately it gets filled with eagles fans during football season (and I say this as a non cowboys fan lol).
Vickery Park, Fillmore Pub, and McNeals Tavern all in downtown Plano. Each bar has a distinct ambiance, food menu, and drink selection. Beer selection is strongest at Fillmore, whiskey selection is best at Vickery, food is best at McNeals (all just my opinions). I’m not a huge fan of Coco Beach or Voodoo but many are. Not exactly a bar but Jorgs has German style beers you won’t see everyday at other bars here.

Downtown is very laid back and friendly. You can actually talk to people and make friends without it being creepy. Besides the bars, there’s a new independent bookstore Bibliobar that has regular interesting events where you could connect with people.

Downtown Plano is a solid place to go for a date night or even chill outing with friends. All of the bars have a strong regulars crowd and events.
