Even though I know this shit happens literally all the time, the fact that I saw positive reviews for this thing really threw into double bold 4k clarity how much review content is just paid promotion bullshit. I can't see how Gen Alpha is going to have any view of what reality and truth is by the time they are in their 30s.

If it was a "we'll throw this in if you buy a certain package of Bronco," like say they made an outdoor package with a nice rack on the back of the Bronco and whatever, and you also get the bike. OK, cool, fine. Then charge $1500 for it for people who don't want to buy an actual Bronco but think the bike is cool.

$4k though? $5k with some additional cosmetic features? Holy shit. Shitty components for the most part? Probably impossible for most bike shops to work on?

But hey looking at what people pay for certain trucks these days, like $30-60k over MSRP I guess it makes sense as a way to extract more money from fanboys.

Car companies usually don't put any R&D into ebikes, they just find a skeleton bike provider, configure it, slap their logo on it, and mark up the price. In Ford's case they configured it with an non-adjustable seat, and they messed with the torque curve of the motor. I presume car people had no idea what they are doing with a bike, so the bike has zero torque until around 5mph, when you've done most of the work getting it going. It's not just a throttle button issue, the motor doesn't kick on while pedaling either.

It's basic, not at all powerful, but looks a bit shiny. For the money, you'd be far better off getting something else; getting a professional to respray it in your bronco colours; and spending the considerable change on beer. But don't try and ride home afterwards, because there'd be quite a lot of change. Enough to kill you if you went for equivalent machinery.
