Strange but cool laser sight

Can anybody identify this? Seems pretty low profile and cool though I’m not sure about its quality

I saw this video, I thought he said what it was? I know he commented on it at least.

How do you even holster this?
Flabbergasted_____@reddit
A hammerless snubby J frame? Shove it in yer pocket!
Jk, but ya probably either don’t or make your own. Though sometimes these weirdo attachments come with their own if the maker plans ahead.

The laser sight for the NAA Mini is similarly mounted but even goofier.
Low key want one for one of mine, along with the bayonet.

Looks cyberpunk like something in 2077
Panthean@reddit
MFT backup torch, or Princeton Tech Rail light. They look the same to me, not sure what the deal is with the brands.
I have a MFT knockoff on my Wrangler, though mine is mounted below my red dot so I can aim. Mine is mostly just for looks, it's definitely not bright enough for anything serious. It does look pretty badass if I do say so myself. I have a legit MFT too, but I installed the knockoff version because I had to modify it to fit, and it seemed to function as well as the real version.
Obstructing the sites for a \~10-20 lumen light (depending on the version) seems like a terrible idea.

Laser can also be mounted upside down but then you can’t holster the gun properly right?
Panthean@reddit
In my case the gun is more of a range toy. I did cut a channel into a cheap holster for my optic and light, it actually works quite well but it does look goofy. I would like to get custom kydex made some day.

Quality aside, I don’t understand a laser sight that completely obstructs the iron sights. The under barrel and grip lasers would seem to be a better idea than this.
Spartan543210@reddit
1) It is more secure to mount there than anywhere (besides the grips) else on some models of revolvers.
2) Laser grips likely are not as customizable in terms of size and shape. This option preserves that choice.
3) I agree that there should be a way to use the sights, but as others have noted that may not be a priority for the owner.
Cliffinati@reddit
The idea is the you use the laser as your sights. It's a hammerless S&W so it's meant for self defense. The idea being to not bother with acquiring sight picture just lase and pull
Anaxamander57@reddit
Point shooting? No use for the sights at all.
Useless_Fox@reddit
You don't use your sights while point shooting, but normally you can decide if a situation calls for point shooting or sight shooting.
Lasers can be useful, but taking one at the cost of your irons is just such a bad trade off. If a threat turns out to be more than just a few yards away, then you've severely handicapped yourself for no reason. Even worse if it's in daylight where lasers become near invisible.
Anaxamander57@reddit
Point shooting . . . against vampires?
abledart@reddit
I know you can use screw anchors as 22 snap caps but why only every other chamber?
stanky_one@reddit
I was wondering this too
touseure@reddit
As others have said the thing on top is a light, the laser is from the Crimson Trace laser grip that's been installed on the gun. You can see the point the laser is projecting out of in the second pic, its the bump out on the right side of the gun at the top of the grip.
BeenJamminMon@reddit
Its a light and not a laser. Its a Princeton Tech Switch Rail light. Very low output. I have the IR/Red unit on my helmet for a tiny task light under NODs.
