TI 99/4am with 128K adapter anf FinalGROM/99 from KneeHighSpy

What’s that cartridge? I have a silver one and a tan one, both in the box, that I haven’t had a chance to play with yet.

The open air cart is a FinalGrom which has basically every single cart for this system ever made on an SD card!
Omega-TI@reddit
Yes, the FinalGROM really gave the TI a new lease on life... best cartridge ever.

I have one of these which turns on with no audio or video. I need to recap it one day.
ShortstopGFX@reddit
Is that a black and white Sony PVM style monitor?
dillingerdiedforyou@reddit (OP)
Its a 9” Pelco; color but my lousy camera didn’t capture it well. It was a CCTV monitor in a previous life.

Played the hell out of Parsec 40 years ago!

I had the speech synthesizer sidecar. That robotic ladies voice is still burnt inside my head 45 years later: "Press fire to begin!", "Nice shooting.. pilot."
rick420buzz@reddit
I always wished the voice named the ships, but it just said "Enemy ships attacking". I wanted to hear it say Bynite and Dramite and the others. Worst was the UFOs that came in from the left, sometimes you got rear-ended by those bastards.
GoGades@reddit
I seem to recall there was a spot a few inches from the bottom where you could park yourself where they very rarely come out from, but yea, there was really nothing you could do. Even if you went as far forward as you could, those UFOs came in too fast.

I had those joysticks. They SUUUUUUUUUUCKED!
TMWNN@reddit
"TI joysticks were of poor quality and difficult to find, for example; one reseller reported that its best-selling product was the Atari CX40 joystick adapter cable". —Wikipedia
rick420buzz@reddit
I found my TI joysticks in the same place I found the 99/4A. Under the Christmas tree. Also got "Alpiner" that Xmas.
This was after TI stopped making them, my cousin worked there, so my mom got the computer cheap.
dillingerdiedforyou@reddit (OP)
I have Alpiner on cartridge! Came with this TI when I got it.
GoGades@reddit
Just looking at a picture of a TI joystick makes me hands cramp up. The person who designed those things was a sadist.
crookdmouth@reddit
Fantastic! I always wanted a TI994a. Never had one.
trackrat53@reddit
I was a CoCo2 guy, but had friends with the Ti. Sweet!
freedoomed@reddit
This is what I had growing up, we had a p-box and everything.
