You should ask on r/shittyaskflying

Don't pick up the pencil that the examiner "accidently" drops at your feet while you are turning final.
AstroRoverToday@reddit
Make sure the people who administered your written test stamp the piece of paper correctly. When I got to my PPL check ride - flew to a different airport to take my check ride - he looked at all my papers and asked "Where's the stamp?". The check ride never started and I had to fly home and reschedule for another day. On approach, my instructor, who was flying in a different airplane, asked the controller if he could speak to me in air, and got permission. So, on the Approach Control frequency (full of Southwest, United, etc), my instructor asked "Cessna 733CP, how did your check ride go?" I replied, "Never happened, missing a stamp on my certificate." I swear there a 3-minute moment of silence on the radio when the collective hearts of the 737 pilots dropped in sadness ... until finally a Captain came on the radio and quietly mentioned his position as he checked in on the frequency. The next day I got the stamp, an apology, and rescheduled my check ride, which I passed a week later.

I don't think they have been stamped for last three years. Since PSL took over.

Mine doesn’t have a stamp. My check ride is in 4 days. Will have my. CFI take a look.
FlatChocolate7929@reddit (OP)
mine is in 3.5 hours & i don’t have a stamp. i’ll lyk how it goes
bddgfx@reddit
My CFI said he’s never signed those, says the endorsement in the logbook supersedes that. Good luck!

i passed 🥳 flight portion is tomorrow !

Woo!! Congrats! 🎉

Once you earn your PPL. It is a license to learn, you are just barely safe enough.
AreWeThereYetNo@reddit
It’s the first step. I am told it’s the most difficult one too.
gritsource@reddit
This was years ago (1985) for my PPL. My examiner signed me off and left the airplane. He didn't latch the door (Cessna 172) I took off solo with my newly minted PPL and as I rotated, the door blew partly open (as it will if unlatched) and sucked out all of my charts. All gone. I was startled, yet I kept my cool and headed back to home base, managing to latch the friggin' door enroute (much quieter). My first lesson in flight humility.
I haven't flown in a few years - busy life. But I got my commercial and instrument ratings, taildragger endorsement, formation and formation lead ratings, Type ratings in the L-39 Albatros Jet as well as the L-29 Delfin Jet.
Good times!

“Accidentally” caress the DPEs knee when going for the flaps. They love that!
papiperflyer@reddit
Only applicable on pipers

Far from the only aircraft with a Johnson bar…
papiperflyer@reddit
Ok Mr snippy my bad I didn’t know about the 1962 Cessna cumshooter limited edition with 200 in the world ever made with Johnson bar flaps like what dude?

Just pointing out that there are a lot of aircraft other than Pipers with Johnson bars… it’s not a rare or Piper-exclusive thing.
Weird that you’re being so defensive about it.

Pipers are on top

Don’t hit the ground until you’re supposed to, then do so softly.

If you do a practice forced landing, and the examiner says “what do you do if you’re too high/fast for the field you’ve planned to land in?”, the correct answer is not “pray”.

Keep a sticker labeled "INOP" in your pocket. If you think the examiner is about to fail you, just apply the INOP sticker to them first.
FlapsupGearup@reddit
If the DPE looks at you funny and asks “are you sure” during the oral, think hard before saying yes
TheGacAttack@reddit
100% that! That's a cue to say "let's read the regulation together and confirm."
Random61504@reddit
And remember they could be trying to trick you, even though you're right! I nearly fell for that on my PPL ride. Still passed, but she tried.
AreWeThereYetNo@reddit
Don’t do anything new. You’ve gone through all the training. Stick to your training.
Enjoy it. Like seriously, enjoy the flight.
Dogfaceman_10@reddit
I failed my initial check ride because I didn't do any check turns, man was I pissed off. But those are the rules, do the check turns in your assigned airspace before proceeding with anything the examiner asks you to accomplish.

Make sure you go TO or FROM the VOR
Katana_DV20@reddit
Take command and fly the airplane.
Aside from the aviation questions the examiner is also thinking. "Would I let my family members fly with this pilot?"
Aviate. Navigate. Communicate.
gromm93@reddit
Your instructor thinks you're ready. Believe them.
fatloowis@reddit
It’s ok to be nervous but don’t focus on how nervous you are. If you’re in the plane and worrying about being nervous then you aren’t fully focused on flying the plane.
Go get it!
TheVengeful148320@reddit
Take a moment, close your eyes, take a deep breath. Do you trust your CFI? Because if they signed you off it means they think you'll pass. Remember the DPE is just some guy like the rest of us. This might be your big day but to him it's another check ride like he's done possibly a thousand times before, don't nearly kill him and he'll be happy, chances are he wants you to pass too.
Consistent_Poem8461@reddit
good luck..
