Entire IT department axed in one morning, still processing this

Walked into the office today jamming to my usual playlist, grabbed my Monster energy drink from the break room fridge (yeah I'm that guy), and settled in to deal with whatever clusterfuck awaited me. Try to pull up our monitoring dashboard and boom "Authentication failed." Weird. Try the domain controller console. Same thing. Exchange admin center? Nope. I'm thinking maybe our AD is having a stroke or something when Janet from HR appears at my cubicle like a fucking harbinger of doom. She's got that look, you know the one. The "I'm about to ruin your entire day" face. "Can you come with me please?" Twenty minutes later I'm in a conference room with the other seven members of our IT team looking at each other like confused puppies. HR lady drops the bomb: "Your positions are being eliminated effective today." That's it. No sugar coating, no "this was a difficult decision," no explanation. Just corporate speak for "you're all fucked, clean out your desks." The absolute wildest part? They're making our junior developer Kyle the new "IT Director." This kid asked me last month how to change his Windows password. Now he's supposed to manage our entire infrastructure through some random MSP they hired. Kyle looked like he was going to throw up when they told him. My buddy Rodriguez has been here since 2015. Built half our network from scratch. Just got told to pack his shit and leave by lunch. No severance, no notice, nothing. They're also conveniently ignoring the holiday bonus they promised us in December. The cherry on top? As we're walking out, I see the MSP guys already setting up in the server room. These people planned this for weeks and didn't say a goddamn word to any of us. I'm equal parts pissed and relieved honestly. This place has been going downhill fast.
