I think it’s because she wants no deniability that the little Lebowski is a Lebowski indeed. I’m a proponent of the “it was all Maude” theory, and thought I’d worked out something pretty solid (the theory was based in simplicity), but I did identify one rather plot hole in my theory… not that I can remember what the hole (or any of the tenets) were.
