What would you make with an abundance of strawberries?

How much storage do you have? You can process them: jam, coulis, vodka. You can freeze them whole. You can cook then freeze to reduce volume - don't add sugar, just bubble down and freeze as cubes. If you have an allotment or a big garden, have you considered canning gluts? Trade with neighbours? You could also make a low sugar jam (I forget the word right now) and freeze it rather than using sugar to preserve it, in batches. Strawberries also work really well with rocket, black pepper and Balsamic vinegar so consider salads, pancakes, muffins. Or find someone with a toddler and become their best friend. Last of all. Make jam. Stick it outside with an honesty box. See how long it takes to be broken into.
