“The shaking of the earth is your warning of tsunami,” the City of Seattle’s website stated. “Once the shaking stops, run to high ground. If there is no higher ground or no time to reach higher ground, climb into the upper levels of a multi-story structure.”

I'm pretty sure we're past the shaking part, so it's kinda weird that this was included in the article. It makes it seem like the tsunami will be causing the shaking.

That's what worries me is this an earthquake or did they let one of those Poseidon's on their shores... It's very interesting for a 8.8...

An 8.8 magnitude earthquake releases more energy than two Tsar Bombas, the biggest nukes ever made (100+ MT for the earthquake vs 50 MT for the nuke), safe to say that it's extremely unlikely that a bomb double the size of the last record holder was used or tested without massive international attention.
