Forest Service to Abandon Nine Regional Offices

The national Forest Service Fire Sciences Lab and Forest Products Lab, located in Missoula, Montana, would not be moved, according to the memo. However, seven other stand-alone research stations would be consolidated to Fort Collins.

I call her secretary Barbie. Another non-farmer head of the farmers agency making dumb decisions.
My recommendation is if you need a new roof, get the most fire resistant material and practice anti-wildfire landscaping around your house, including planting fire resistant native plants. Look at Texas, the feds aren't doing shxt to help them. Meanwhile Trumpy-poo is building his 90,000 sq. ft. pedo...I mean "ballroom."

With increasing wildfires each year this seems like a real bad idea. I know where I am living the local and volunteer firefighters are not prepared for these fires.

It's like the oldest trick in the book
Fires were almost a daily occurrence in Rome, and Crassus took advantage of the fact that Rome had no fire department, by creating his own brigade—500 men strong—which rushed to burning buildings at the first cry of alarm. Upon arriving at the scene, however, the firefighters did nothing while Crassus offered to buy the burning building from the distressed property owner, at a miserable price. If the owner agreed to sell the property, his men would put out the fire; if the owner refused, then they would simply let the structure burn to the ground. After buying many properties this way, he rebuilt them, and often leased the properties to their original owners or new tenants

Well they aren't the smartest people, just the most devious and sneaky to keep their motives hidden. He forms a fire dept and people are misled to think it's a good thing to protect the citizens but it's an evil person profiting off of the fire. And now we have the same thing happening now. They use the same playbook over and over. Centuries of them causing misery.

Ronald Reagan's dream come true. It only took 12 terms of Ronald Reagan to do it.

I'm sure this will absolutely not adverse impact on wildfire season at all. Definitely not creating a problem that can then be 'fixed' with an enshittiefied version of the exact same as a new and novel solution.

Ahhhh but this time we'll use contractors.

Does anyone have the locations of the regional offices being shuttered? The article only mentions where they're being centralized to.

Your state certainly did vote for it, though.

Unfortunately! Been trying to move out of here since 2021 but it's difficult uprooting.
