As per Gemini: Estimates suggest the US has around 450 fifth-generation fighters (F-22s and F-35s). China is estimated to have around 300 J-20s. Russia's Su-57 fleet is smaller, with estimates ranging from 10 to 44.
44 is fairly optimistic. They can't even produce 4th gen in these numbers. US is done with Raptor production.
Is it a good looking plane and can do acrobatics? Yes. Military application is zero, Russia has the opportunity to deploy it in Ukraine and test, but they didn't. The only recorded action was Su-57 shooting down their own drone. Why?
And as far as sexy goes, Su-27 is way better looking plane. Ayou wonder about tech, Tu-160 is way cooler. But, this was Soviet production and Russia can't build any new ones anymore as they lost the tech.
Да вы шооо
А то что Россия может оттачивать пятое поколение, а не выпустить сырое недоработанное дорогущее говно, как Америка, это мы опустим.
Насчёт дрона - ваш грозный аэростат является более приоритетной целью что-ли???
Because their tech has been proven to be about 90% brag.
None of their claims make sense, for example, they have a paper air force of 1000s of planes, but seems less than 200 at most are airworthy. Incapable of establishing any kind air superiority over any area of Ukraine, they mostly stay far within own borders and launch cruise missiles or glide bombs at civilians in Kharkiv.
Similar with their various SAM systems. They’ve been taken out countless times by drones or even the old versions of ATACAMS missiles. Israel seems to take them out at will.
This airplane also doesn’t exist as serial manufactured thing that can “make up for” their old worn out planes. It’s too big, too expensive, and very likely not “packed with tech”, because their own tech is decades behind.
What Russia is really good at however, is lying and posturing. Shaping the narrative to their advantage. Soviets made propaganda into a literal science.
It's just nerds fighting over stats on the internet. Which is bizarrely hilarious. Like when morbidly obese sports fans punch each other over scores.
It's a sexy looking plane regardless.
Why does appreciating engineering and aesthetics have to make you a nationalist of whatever country the aircraft was developed in or supported by? It makes no sense.

There was another post abt it and everyone did actually enjoy the looks. I don't like Russia and I know this plane is not a peer to the likes of the F-22 or F-35 but damn does it look good

All that maneuvering used to be gold. Stealth is now the prized possession. An airshow favorite is (unfortunately) not valued in peer warfare with the US (the top maker of lethal weapons).
It is what it is. I personally find anything Russian that isn't the true last Russian Fighter jet (Flanker) absolutely hilarious looking.
I mean we are talking about a country that designed ejection seats for an attack helicopter here. I do not shake sticks at planes very often but this one specifically is about as goofy as they come. How many are built? How many are Active and how many are ordered should tell you all you need to know about this plane.
How many years was the FOXBAT again?
Which design beareau created the FOXBAT?
Newsflash, ever since Sukhoi took center space with the su27 there hasnt another repeat of the FOXBAT ever
Almost 2 decades.
Mikoyan-Gurevich.
The Su-57 fighter jet, despite being marketed as a fifth-generation stealth fighter, faces several issues, primarily related to its stealth capabilities, engine performance, and build quality. These shortcomings prevent it from truly competing with other fifth-generation fighters like the F-22 and F-35.
Nice paragraphs
Did you get that from chatgpt?
Build quality?
You are aware that the production serial model of the su57 does not have visible screws right?
Objectively false based off of I mean just looking at it. I personally don't take the stats published by Russia, but it's not like it's unstealthy.
Also not relevant to what I said
I'm more a fan of the SU27 family or the MIG29, those are some sexy looking planes.
The SU57 doesn't have that.
On technical side I know little, I just understand that dogfighting is getting out of fashion.
