Have you ever encountered a Bull in the countryside? Was it scary?

I ask because I'll relay a little story from a few years back. I was on a walk with my dad and grandparents while we were on holiday in the countryside. My dad has always been someone who loves to walk for miles and miles without thinking where he's going. He's almost 60 and my grandparents are in their 80s. Though you'd be surprised how upwardly mobile they still are albeit rigid and slow. We were walking around in the countryside when we passed a farm, to keep walking we had to climb over a gate. (If you've been to the english countryside you'll know what I mean) It was difficult for my grandparents but they still did it. I noticed a sign saying "BEWARE OF THE BULL" and told my dad. He wasn't bothered since he's walked through many fields with bulls. I was worried about my grandparents more than anything and their dog. As we're walking through this field we turned and saw some strange generator powerline thing in the trees. Then we heard this bellow in the distance, I felt like I was in jurassic park honestly. It was obvious everyone was becoming nervous and thankfully my dad agreed and we turned back. It got me thinking how usually in Britain we have no real scary animals to worry about on hikes. Unlike america with it's bears and mountain lions. Worst thing we have here is bulls, badgers, horses and wasps. ESPECIALLY WASPS. So I was wondering if anyone has any stories of encounters with Bulls?
