White House Directs States to Pre-emptively Arrest and Forcibly Institutionalize Homeless and Those with Mental Health Issues.

Let me point out that in order for this EO to be carried out, a very large number of Americans, our neighbors, to be specific, will go to work to make this happen while even more of our neighbors do nothing, or worse, support these efforts.
dirtpipe_debutante@reddit
Well yeah. Homeless people completely ruined my city. IDC the reason. I cant walk around downtown day or night without being accosted or threatened.
randomrealitycheck@reddit
Damn, maybe your city should have done something for your neighbors but I guess you don't look at it that way.
Enjoy the hellhole you created.
dirtpipe_debutante@reddit
Damn, maybe a non profit shouldnt have built a homeless uplift center that provides temporary housing for people willing to get clean. Only, none of them want to get clean. And then they stick around in my city. Damn.
Damn man, maybe those things that were supposed to actually help turn out like a fresh pile of shit for the flies.
randomrealitycheck@reddit
I admire the fact that you've admitted that everything your city attempted was found to be useless by the people it was intended to help. And, to be clear, these are desperate people.
They say admitting to your failures is the first step in improving.
Do better.
dirtpipe_debutante@reddit
Oh but we are! We already demolished the hovel city the homeless were prostituting young girls out of, (15-17yo runaways) selling drugs, etc. Next step is bulldozing the uplift center. I cant wait till we get our city back.
But please let me know anything else you think we should be doing for these pedophile pimps and heroin dealers.
randomrealitycheck@reddit
So, now the idea is to piss off desperate people with nothing to lose? That ought to work out really well, if history has ever taught any of us anything.
The old common wisdom taught, when you find yourself in a hole, stop shoveling. I applaud your efforts to dig your way out and look forward to your continued efforts.
dirtpipe_debutante@reddit
No. The idea is to institutionalize them.
randomrealitycheck@reddit
Indeed. And given that you probably couldn't survive six months without a paycheck, you could soon be an inmate too! Enjoy your stay.
dirtpipe_debutante@reddit
I actually can! Thanks for your concern though.
fullVexation@reddit
Bro the only think you can afford is more anime figurines to make yourself feel hard.
BooptyB@reddit
What you are describing sounds like they put one service in place well intentioned but with no other supporting services to back it up. I get that you’re frustrated but instead of tearing it down, other programs such as rehabs, auspice agencies, substance use disorder counseling and long term housing programs should also be in place. There’s obviously a problem where you live and states surrounding, hence why many are coming all over to get what little services they can find. It’s not the Uplift centers fault, they are doing what they can, but if voters in your state and town could start voting to provide more funding into other social services then people in unfortunate circumstances could head on a path towards wellness as opposed to circulating through and endless loop of the only thing available.
Super_Limit_7466@reddit
This may be the most insidious part:
“require those funding recipients to share such data with law enforcement authorities in circumstances permitted by law and to use the collected health data to provide appropriate medical care to individuals with mental health diagnoses or to connect individuals to public health resources”
TL;DR Palantir wants to add your meds and your treatment history to your file
BooptyB@reddit
Good luck with that, we aren’t allowed to share that information with law enforcement unless there’s a court order, and even then it has to be very specific and is tricky.
Environmental-Song16@reddit
So, wtf, they'd come to my house and arrest me for having ADHD and anxiety? How about my son who has depression? 😮💨🤬
Slumunistmanifisto@reddit
There's a chilling effect too.
So many people are going to not get help out of fear now.
BreakfastSavage@reddit
lol not me avoiding the numerous problems I should see a therapist for because I remember RFK saying he wanted to put people on meds “in work camps”
dcontrerasm@reddit
Literally stopped going to therapy the day after this EO. I was told to go inpatient, but I didn’t. Like how could you ask me when my existence has been officially criminalized? I did IOP for a week, but i haven’t felt safe at all since.
BreakfastSavage@reddit
Stay safe, man.
I’m not very good at coping with my own issues(in healthy ways, anyway)but do what’s best for you, and try to keep your head up in these dark times.
Hope you’re doing okay!
dcontrerasm@reddit
Thank you man! Its a fight everyday but I’m still here. I’m happy you are too!

Informal_Pick_6320@reddit
Yeah, I've been needing to get a autism screening. No way in hell I will after this.
Alert_Green_3646@reddit
it's part of what they want, they can take the fact there are so few "new" cases of mental health issues and spin it as success.
Tyrude@reddit
Been saying this since the beginning.
ArmadaOfWaffles@reddit
This is why my friend is an alcoholic instead of on prozac.
After_Pressure_3520@reddit
That's part of the idea. They won't eat their own for having a history of mental disorder, but they'll sure as hell use it as a reason to round up members of other identified outgroups.
Then, when anxiety/depression/ADHD numbers start to dip because people are shy about divulging things to their providers, the administration can spin it however they want. These were inflated numbers to begin with. These aren't real conditions anyway. Look, the people are so much healthier now, they're thriving!
From the people who brought you "once you quit testing for it, the numbers will go down".
Maximum-Lavishness65@reddit
I wont be getting help for my bps and I’ll probably be getting my semi colon tattoo removed.
TurnipRevolutionary5@reddit
Some people already do that because of the horror stories that some people go through dealing with psychiatry or forced psychiatry. Psychiatry isnt perfect nor does it have all the answers my psychiatrist told me that. I was on 23 forces injections for what was essentially a drug problem. Now my body may be fucked up beyond repair, only time will tell. Some people have also died from seeking treatment or been sexually assaulted. Not everyone goes through these things obviously but they do happen to people.

And like what are they going to do with me in the camp? I've been told I'm a royal pain in the ass by pretty much everyone I've met. What benefit am I going to provide as I constantly sow the discontent

‘We don’t have a gun problem we have a mental health problem’
Tries to round up the mentally ill, many of whom have guns
front_yard_duck_dad@reddit
And the funniest thing is the people who are saying the mental health problem are the mentally ill ones with the guns because the red hat proves it. The confused Spider-Man meme is going to get real interesting in the next few years
Brilliant1965@reddit
Yup ain’t happening here.
blessedveteran@reddit
Once they have enough manpower they will come for your guns. That is certain. They must be stopped before that.
AnitaNoLavaSuTina@reddit
Absolutely! I had never fired a gun in my life before. As soon as I heard about Kennedy's confirmation and his labor farms I armed myself up and started training.
I know there is no way that I can stop a very well trained law enforcement squad. But me and my wife (ADHD, depression and brown) are clear on one thing: we will not be split apart.
It's not about preserving my life amongst my community, it is about not being captured. That simply will not happen. I'm hoping I damage whoever comes for us as much as possible.
GamermanRPGKing@reddit
ADHD, asexual, left wing, work in lab settings... It's exhausting man
ragdollxkitn@reddit
Yup. Same here, no adhd or autism but other conditions. We are not going without a fight.

I want to let people know they can move to Illinois There was a bill signed by the governor to protect medical records from search. For now our medical records are safe, which is more than can be said for most places in the country under red State rule
AWOLdo@reddit
I'd rather not live in a place that restricts buying ammo when living under a totalitarian regime.
front_yard_duck_dad@reddit
I have more rights than you. My personal medical data is protected, cannabis is legal, we stand with our immigrants no matter the status. I don't know who restricts ammo, I can buy it by mail and have it at more doorstep without even signing for it 😂
AWOLdo@reddit
Here homie. https://www.illinois.gov/services/service.foid.html
front_yard_duck_dad@reddit
A foid card is so easy to obtain and has absolutely no downside if you aren't a fellon. It's renewed online every 10 years. You don't have any the reporting of personal fire arms. It's a simple additional background check. Zero downside.
AWOLdo@reddit
Crazy that you see how the government having access to your medical info is bad. Yet you don't see how them knowing your intent to purchase arms and ammunition is.
front_yard_duck_dad@reddit
Medical data to put my family in camps is far more an imminent threat then anyone at the stage of Illinois tracking ammo purchases. You have a lot unfounded trust in my state at record keeping. They can't even stop how much illegal guns and ammo come directly from Indiana where they have no such legations or restrictions.
AWOLdo@reddit
It's not an issue you until Illinois is forced to hand that info over and planatir builds a profile on you and your family with that and every other government agency data. Gun rights are how you protect your family. The less information they have the better.
Cute_Ad4654@reddit

agent_flounder@reddit
That's the worry. Me and our trans kid with ADHD. Me and wife with depression.
See you at the farm labor camp...
One_Rope2511@reddit
They will deem the trans 🏳️⚧️ community as mentally ill and try to label individuals for commitment. It is a Right Wing death cult!
Girafferage@reddit
If people come to your door and try to put you and your kids in a camp, the only farm anybody should see is one upstate where my rabbit went when I was 5.
deport_racists_next@reddit
Big words.
Keep that in mind when you are face down in the dirt with a gun to your head.
Get outta your head fantasies and make real plans.
Fight is not the only option and should be the last option when cornered.
Good luck
Girafferage@reddit
If somebody tries to kidnap my child, we wont get to the face down in the dirt - gun to my head part. I'll be dead in my house or not, but my kid sure as shit isn't getting kidnapped. Idk if you are a parent, but me dying is far from the most horrible thing I am afraid of.
deport_racists_next@reddit
Again brave words.
Think.
If you really want to protect your family, you need more than what you are showing here.
Think friend.
Just state thinking.
Girafferage@reddit
I hear you in that there are many more viable and useful ways to assist your family, but regardless I am not letting somebody take my kid lol. They aren't brave words - they really aren't. Its just being a parent. Its like not wanting to hit your thumb with a hammer.
deport_racists_next@reddit
Good luck
Girafferage@reddit
You do realize the alternative in the situation is somebody taking your child to a camp, right?
You clearly are not a parent, friend.
deport_racists_next@reddit
You do realize real life is not like the movies, and your failure to prepare will cost you and your family your lives.
Fool.
Stop thinking binary if you want your family to survive.
Frankly, I think they would be better off without you the way you present yourself here.
Either way, not my problem.
Good luck
Girafferage@reddit
You are a disgusting person. I hope you realize that someday.
JerseyDonut@reddit
Get good with your community. They will try to be slick about it. You can't fight off a gangs of mauraders alone.
ice_up_s0n@reddit
^This. We should all remember the minutemen were essential to the founding of our great country
JerseyDonut@reddit
Yeah man. This is literally starting to become what the whole "keep a well-regulated militia" of our constitution is all about. People being dragged outa their homes and at work without due process. Happened a cpl neighborhoods away from me the other day.
Regardless of our political leanings, or whether we think certain people belong here or not, the threat of a tyranical government has actually manifested now. The threat is clear as day. The government, which has a monopoly on the use of force, has demonstrated very clearly that they have zero respect for human rights and will throw out every bullshit excuse in the book to justify that.
I used to think this sub was kinda kooky. But y'all were doing the lord's work.
Eponymous-Username@reddit
So are you doing it? Sorry, I know that's a challenging way to ask. Are we getting out and forming bonds with our communities? I'm going to knock on my neighbor's door tomorrow.
Let's do it. Reddit conversation to action - mutual support. Let's start rebuilding our communities.
SKI326@reddit
I’m trying but it’s pretty red around here.
Eponymous-Username@reddit
Good luck to you. I know we're probably in no mood to give grace to people who put us in this mess, but I know some Republicans who are just now seeing their mistake. Those folks are our neighbours as well. You don't have to like them, but it serves you to know them.
SKI326@reddit
Thank you. I just feel compelled to do this for the community. It’s going to take awhile.
altgrave@reddit
my various illnesses, mostly the mental ones, prevent me from doing this. what now?
Eponymous-Username@reddit
Firstly, I wasn't addressing you, so responding to be by broadcasting your despair like it's some sort of 'gotcha' is a non sequitur.
The answer for you is the same as it is for anyone whose primary problems are 'the mental ones': seek treatment. Get yourself to a spot where you can start reaching out to others, then do so. What do you expect me to say? That you're a hopeless lost cause? You're not.
JerseyDonut@reddit
Hell yes I am. Slowly, but surely. I'm not running for town council or anything. But I'm doing the things I know how and within my power.
I recently bought a home and I made it a point to make friends with and do favors for all my neighbors. They all know who I am and what Im about. Even the assholes I have been graceful to and extended olive branches.
I took in a roommate who needed help who has dedicated his life to helping others in the local community.
I have been spending more time at community oriented events, like festivals, peaceful protests, outreach programs, sporting events, and block parties in order to meet people, support the ones organizing, and spreading good vibes. Further strengthening relationships w family, friends, and neighbors.
And I am at the point now where I am finally compelled to volunteer my time and resources to helping others in my community. I've been interested in doing that for awhile now but was always too busy, too sad, or too afraid to actually do it.
No single person has to be a one man army. And no single person has to make a significant sacrifice. We just need more people doing a little bit extra to enrich themselves and the people around them. We need to forget about "the other" for a minute and focus on who is next door to us.
PlanXerox@reddit
Bruh....fighting brits in redcoats as the clear enemy. Absolutely nothing like that in neighborhoods.
fruderduck@reddit
I honestly believe it’s going to be impossible to reason with most republicans, no matter how well you think you know each other or how much you’ve tried to befriend them.
And if that is who your neighbors are…. you’re just screwed.
420Celt@reddit
I've heard it said that "You can't comply your way into peace with a sociopath"!
monos_muertos@reddit
Disabled (and mentally ill) people can't get tight with community because everyone universally hates them. It's why they're always the first target...fish in a barrell.
JustAnotherUser8432@reddit
That’s working so well for the neighbors being dragged off to concentration camps for being brown. A few protesters videoing it and then that person is gone forever. Nothing is stopped.
panama_red12@reddit
This is good advise, but also be prepared to have to handle it alone, however you have to. How many videos have we seen of folks dragged away while neighbors stand there and film?
photofool484@reddit
My neighbors (more than 1 but less than 100) and myself all have two way radios for any and all emergencies.

That will only apply if you become homeless. So basically anyone homeless will be considered a criminal and treated as such. You say you have a home or place to stay so that's not homeless.
The state of being homeless is an illegal act now. You live in a House or residence so it doesn't apply. Now were you or one of your loved ones become homeless (during the next 3 years), you or your love ones will be committing an illegal act and treated as criminals.
Mass layoffs and unemployment and now being homeless is also illegal 😆 the irony.
DewickedkittenTTv@reddit
A lot of them are veterans….

It also mentions being a threat to yourself or others or mentally ill (broad term.). You don’t need to be homeless to be rounded up.

I fear they're trying to find replacements for all of the disappeared migrant workers etc, and targeting a disadvantaged group that they think the general public will be ok with enslaving.
Lord_Vesuvius2020@reddit
The homeless are not experienced or trained for replacing the migrants who had skills and experience with agricultural work and especially with construction. A lot of them won’t make good slaves. So then what?

bcf623@reddit
I wouldn't be surprised at all if that's the future they want, but thankfully that's not in this EO. The section the top comment posted is in reference to this:
so the medical histories and data of those receiving homelessness assistance (or restricted from it if they use this as a form of means testing) will be collected and shared with law enforcement (+Palantir), but not those of all American citizens (yet).
LittlehouseonTHELAND@reddit
Question: I’m disabled for physical health reasons, not mental, and I live in project based Section 8 housing in NYS. How fucked am I, how scared should I be? Thank you.
bcf623@reddit
I'm not an expert on any of this so my opinion shouldn't be worth much, but my worries would be directed more towards the continued funding and availability of section 8 housing programs than the overlap with your disability. Not much more we can do than take things one day at a time though, and try our best to be ready for whatever may come with the next one.
LittlehouseonTHELAND@reddit
Thanks for the response! That was my thinking too, so I feel a little better. Relatively speaking. I’ve never been happier to be living in NY with all of this going on, even though I’m upstate in a reddish/purpleish area. At least it’s still NY. For the record, I’m a liberal Democrat and I voted for Harris. It sickens me how many people who rely on the government for things like housing, healthcare, and disability voted the other way. I’ll never understand it.

Alicia-TNG@reddit
In general, never call the cops to deal with a person having a crisis. Statistics vary year to year, but on average 33-50% of incidents where the cops end up shooting someone in the US, it's a person with a disability.
Maleficent_Scale_296@reddit
They’ll start with the homeless population. The government will lie and say they’re being helped. They’ll be given jobs (harvesting fruit and vegetables) and housing with cute names like Alligator. People will be a little concerned but overall pleased to not have to deal with it. Finally, you can walk down streets with no tents, no motor homes clogging up your street, you can go to Costco and not have to feel annoyed at the beggars. Sometimes tough love is necessary right?
Then it will be people who use any kind of public assistance, like Medicaid and society will be okay with that cause honestly, why should our hard earned tax dollars pay for lazy people who just don’t want to work?
It will happen slowly at first. A few will notice and speak up. They’ll go too.
Then they’ll come for you. So hey, don’t worry, you’ve got a little time.

Mental illness is a very broad term. It doesn’t specify any specific mental illness nor how severe it must be. Nor is a risk to themselves or others defined. How far will they take it? Oh, you smoke cigarettes. You have an addiction (mental and physical), you’re harming yourself and your secondhand smoke is harming others.

They were excitedly talking about the homeless aspect, when I showed them the full text and told them their favorite child who suffers from depression can now be dragged to a farm. I asked them to think what would happen to a small fragile 5ft 100 pound young women in her mid twenties, all by herself with no contact of the outside world. Now I am the bad guy for saying this.

Felony.
terrierhead@reddit
Is it? Honest question. What made me think of it was that school murderer bastard whose parents had bought him guns as a gift.
HighGrounderDarth@reddit
In this case it would be a straw purchase. I have 5 guns and only 2 went through a 4473. Private gun sales are fine, but not if the intent was to get a gun for someone who is prohibited from owning a gun. I was a little worried after some legal issues a few years ago. Bought 2 from a family member, but recently bought from an FFL and both times the check came back clear in about 30 minutes.
ModernRobespierre@reddit
There's a way around it, but there is a question if the firearm is for you. And has to be yes. To get around, the actual recipient has to answer the questions and then you just pay for it. But if that person is on meds... see where I'm going?

Once again, wild that Conservatives, party of small government, is A-okay with all of this.
I'm willing to bet none of them are on any medications, right? Not a single med. None are depressed, have ADHD/ADD/etc. right? None are on Medicaid? None of their spouses, children either, right?
Anxiety_Fit@reddit
This is why they took Medicaid data and shared it with ICE.
Forever_Marie@reddit
No, they took that because they wanted to find the illegals that signed their American kids up for help or accessed the emergency Medicaid some states have. The only data given was that, no health things. Same with the food stamp data.
Although, really, they have all that data anyway since I believe the autism data specifically was shared with the brain worm at one point.
constantchaosclay@reddit
This is the most insidious part to me. They dont think a pedo and a rapist is a sexually dangerous person, so they MUST mean queer people.

Forever_Marie@reddit
Lmao what in the actual hell. So sure just check all the homeless on whether they are pedos or sexual deviants or and what is civil commitment here ? Mental institution, the concentration camps. If they meant jail wouldn't it be criminal hmmmm. Just civil.
My dildo would like a word. Also which states are going to be ground zero for this. I'm betting the south., specifically the bible belt. They're going to have to define sexually dangerous eventually.
PackOfWildCorndogs@reddit

panama_red12@reddit

Welllllllrip187@reddit
Standing up won’t do anything. When those in power are guaranteed to continue to have it no matter the outcome of a vote, they won’t give a shit about what their base wants, or if they need to vote a certain on certain issues to retain voters. If it’s guaranteed, they will do fuck all with zero consequences. Protesting works because people want to maintain power and they risk losing it if enough people vote another way. That doesn’t mater anymore. Protesting under a dictatorship or regime will have little affect. 😞

The problem with diagnosing is that it’s required by insurance to bill. I work in MH and have to include a diagnosis. It’s awful and I hate it.
Also re: meds…for controlled meds, it doesn’t matter if you use insurance. Many states use a system (PDMP) that tracks controlled substances. They only need your name and birthday and they can see the last ~3 years of prescriptions
SicItur_AdAstra@reddit
I also work in MH, and honestly am refusing to be a part of the billing system, so I’m going admin/policy/community advocacy.

dulcelocura@reddit
I totally get that. Working clinical has drained me lol I can’t wait to get out and it’s hard af to find a policy focused job that qualifies and with minimal experience. I went the MSW route to work in advocacy but I’m just…stuck. It sounds terrible, I know. I make good money for the field but omg it’s exhausting, I’m applying for jobs that pay less. BooptyB@reddit
It’s already beginning. I’m in a blue state. So far this month I have witnessed: in a city park DHS van show up to individuals staying in a tent located at a corner of a park and having them dismantle it and police called. I did not get to see if they ultimately were arrested. In the town I work in they took out all the benches in the downtown area and there is talk that they are to remove them throughout the town. Originally the plan from the town was to replace these but it is now being said they aren’t going to. The reason? The homeless frequent these benches and sometimes sleep on them. Where I work there are town owned benches in front of the building in the back parking lot. (There is a parking lot behind the building with a common area that has benches located in front of business and apartments back entrances). It has now become the spot where some try to sleep. The police have been now patrolling this parking lot. There is a gentleman in town who is homeless, mentally ill and pushes a shopping cart of his things. Some have tried to help him, but unfortunately with his mental illness there is a lack of trust that anyone helping isn’t going to force him into an institution, so he declines any help offered except food. So we check on him and offer him bottled water and food if we have it when we see him around. He was sleeping on the benches one morning and the police came. The officer said someone had called him. I actually believed that as the officer didn’t really seem like he wanted to bother him, this guy is seen a lot pushing his cart through town, he’s known. He talked with him for awhile. I know there’s no service he’d accept. They called in another vehicle and they took him away. That was Monday, no ones seen him since. The homeless here (it’s small city/ town here) all know each other and kinda share /help each other. So when you ask and no one seems to know where he’s at and haven’t seen him, it’s concerning. I also have heard that they (homeless) have been moving around their camps in fear of rumors that there’s “sweeps” coming for them.
Awkward_Search3207@reddit
What institution, there are no mental institutions anymore.
minderbinder49@reddit

Into biofuel, according to Yarvin.
abandon_mint@reddit
Wait, WHAT
saqwarrior@reddit
I did not write this summary, but a quick search revealed this information:
In a 2008 blog post, tech writer Curtis Yarvin, writing under the pseudonym Mencius Moldbug, made a shocking and widely condemned "joke" about converting people he deemed "not productive" into biodiesel. The remark was purely hypothetical and was not connected to any actual biofuel initiative, but it has been frequently cited by his critics.
Key details about the incident:
Context: At the time, Yarvin was a software developer proposing reactionary political ideas, advocating for the replacement of democracy with a top-down "monarchy".
The "Biodiesel solution": Writing under his alias, Yarvin suggested this hypothetical—and since-clarified as a joke—method for society's "underclass." He immediately followed up by stating that it was a horrific idea and not a real proposal.
The "Humane alternative": In the same post, Yarvin outlined what he considered a more "humane alternative to genocide": confining these people to permanent virtual reality.

No in Germany during the 1930s they started with the mentality ill people and handicapped children this is a red flag. It's basically happening again the america now instead of Germany
Signal-Eye-4781@reddit
I was thinking this exact thing.
kittykatmila@reddit
Communists and socialists were the first to go, as they were political opponents and the ones capable of mounting a resistance. Not sure why you’re set on the wrong thing…disabled people came next. Aktion T4.
waffledestroyer@reddit
Communists worked against the moderate left wing parties such as SPD and this contributed to the rise of NSDAP in Germany.
Thefreemanman@reddit
They started murdering the mentally and physically disabled on mass first before any other extermination camps were opened but within months of taking power in 1933 political opponents like communists and socialists were sent to concentration camps like Dachau. The "T4" program that murdered the disabled started in 1939
MsCalendarsPlayaArt@reddit
Just to put the parallels in perspective for folks, the part where disabled people were first... was directly mirrored when folks gleefully "went back to normal" before we had actual solutions to long-covid.
We legit had the tools back then (air filtration, ventilation, N95 masks) to at least attempt to keep mitigating, and folks refused.
That is a larger part of why we're here today than folks were willing to acknowledge back then. I hope folks can see this more clearly now and start using the tools we have to help mitigate this so at least there's less damage to all of us than there otherwise would be.
monsterlynn@reddit
Also, the first ghettos were created to corral the homeless and others they deemed "antisocial" - a term broad enough to include whoever they wanted, like artists that were ideologically opposed to them but not part of any definable political party.

Primary-Slice-2505@reddit
Actually the other poster was correct.
They first purged their own SA. Dachau was opened and it's very first inmates were the communists and socialist opponents of the regime.
The mentally ill and handicapped were murdered in 1939 during the T4 program. Interestingly the Nazis were open about this and received major backlash. Such major backlash actually worried them and they never again were open about murdering groups of people.
Sure everyone knew, but with T4 the party was more or less bragging about it.
Tyrthemis@reddit
Actually I’m pretty sure they came for the communists, SPD, and trade unionists first.

wavestersalamander69@reddit

Primary-Slice-2505@reddit
You were actually correct. The mentally ill etc for T4 was in 39. Hitler gained power in 33.
The Nazis first purged the SA and undesirable leaders in 34.
Then they went after political opponents. Dachau was opened and the first inmates were communists and socialists.

You are either narrow minded or evil. Read it again
parrotia78@reddit
We should be like you, narrow minded in your own way pushing your views on others.
Rikudou_Sennin@reddit
This law literally pushes someone's views onto others.
Why do homeless people and mental health patients need to be removed from the street? Who gets to decide the criteria? Why is the government increasing it's ability to detain people who have not yet committed a crime?
Having such a dangerous "view" surely means you have justification for it right? Or do you prefer making snap judgements even if they effect things like personal freedom for vulnerable populations.
parrotia78@reddit
Not a snap judgment. I'm familiar with homelessness and what occurs in homeless camps. Others are also familiar with what goes on in these camps.
Rikudou_Sennin@reddit
Then do some research. The camps are vile
parrotia78@reddit
Incarceration facilities are known for it.
Rikudou_Sennin@reddit
So why would you ever in a million years put vulnerable people in that situation?
parrotia78@reddit
A vulnerable society seeks accountability of an individual's actions even if the individual has vulnerabilities.
Rikudou_Sennin@reddit
The state having the ability to indiscriminately imprison anyone they deem to be unhoused or mentally unwell does not solve your problem. It causes anyone who has ANY mental disorders or learning disabilities to stop talking about it and stop going to doctors. It may cause people to take more drastic action without telling anyone.
This is the beginning of concentration camps. First immigrants. Then the mentally ill and homeless. Soon anyone considered sexually devious, probably all lgbtq folks.
parrotia78@reddit
The state is not acting indiscriminately.
Rikudou_Sennin@reddit
The state has been given the power TO act indiscriminately. Which is the problem. Having the ability to snatch up anyone with mental health anytime is the problem. And criminalizing homelessness is vile
Aware_Comment3079@reddit
It creates concentration camps. That's what it does. There's no special reading you have to do, there's no guesswork, you don't have to squint your eyes. They have been saying for months that they want concentration camps, and this bill comes along that allows them to round up whoever they want and take them wherever they want, and your genuine thought is, "hmmmmmmmmmm what could this EO possibly be for?"
ABELLEXOXO@reddit
Took me 11 years to find a medication that worked well for me. Nobody is going to be getting help, they're going to be tranquilized and used as free labor.
parrotia78@reddit
Truly hope you have your health needs addressed! Took 11 yrs working with physicians. Those of lesser means often need outside help.
EspressoBreve@reddit
years ago Chicago released mentally ill folks from their local mental institution. Those that were deemed non violent. They were given a few dollars and put on the bus that took them into the city. Overnight the homeless population exploded. It's not joke that mentally unstable people need help, and especially if they're homeless. If this gets homeless off the street for treatment and perhaps a chance of a normal life I'd think everyone would want to support that effort.
Aware_Comment3079@reddit
Concentration camps help no one. You're just hoping they snatch up a child, so you can peruse the wares and then rape its brains out, as Republicans tend to do. Hitlerite.

What a second… didn’t the Nazi’s do the same thing?
Funky-Buddah@reddit
Yes. The Nazi’s didn’t just wake up one morning and decide to commit genocide. They practiced first on the mentally ill, the disabled and the homeless.. years before the actual Holocaust began.
Starting in the early 1930s, the Nazis dramatically expanded forced institutionalization programs. Individuals were deceived with promises of relocation to “improved facilities” or “specialized treatment,” then committed to psychiatric hospitals, asylums, and specialized institutions. The criteria for commitment were deliberately broad, encompassing minor behavioral issues, so-called “asocial” behavior, or simply being labeled “unproductive.”
During this period, the regime implemented forced sterilization programs targeting people with mental illnesses, intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, and epilepsy. Under the authorizing legislation, approximately 400,000 people were sterilized.
Simultaneously, the Nazis launched campaigns against homeless individuals as part of their broader assault on “asocials.” Mass arrests during street sweeps rounded up homeless people, with authorities justifying these actions as necessary for “cleaning up” cities for public health and moral purposes. Homeless individuals became among the first non-political prisoners sent to early concentration camps.
The killing phase commenced in 1938. People were transported by bus to killing centers, where they were murdered in gas chambers designed to resemble shower facilities. Their bodies were cremated, and families received falsified death certificates listing fabricated causes of death.
After public resistance emerged, the program was officially discontinued in 1941, following the murders of 70,000 to 80,000 people. However, the killings continued through decentralized methods including deliberate starvation, lethal injections, and systematic neglect in hospitals and institutions. This second phase claimed an additional 200,000 lives.
These systematic murders of disabled individuals, the mentally ill and homeless people preceded the Holocaust and provided the Nazi regime with both the operational framework and psychological conditioning that would later enable the industrial-scale genocide of Jewish people and other targeted groups.

buttersofthands@reddit
Just because a person is unhoused does not mean they are suffering from a mental illness. And just because a person lives in a house that is white does not mean they are not suffering from mental illness. So when you take a broad take that these people can't care for themselves you are sounding just like the people in charge that want to criminalize thinking that doesn't align with them. Check yourself.
kormer@reddit
I think we're going to have to agree to disagree.
buttersofthands@reddit
No I don't think so because that is a cop out. What I am saying is that EO is extremely dangerous because while it does not attempt to create any laws it allows for taxpayer dollars to be used to round up people that have been broadly painted as having a mental illness and then sent to places that will abuse authority and most likely this administration is going to use them as the new free labor force aka slavery - which was never fully abolished. And also "agree to disagree" is used by people that no longer have anything to back their baseless claims.

Sadly, they're within shouting distance of doing a good thing here. The U.S. is in desperate need of better mental health care and support, especially for homeless people. Instead of ignoring the homeless population, making them sleep under bridges, and prosecuting them for petty crimes at every turn, we should be vastly expanding access to mental health care. Many of the people on the streets are very severely ill, some are dangerous to themselves or others, and yes, in some cases, institutional hospital care should be part of the solution.
That said, the authoritarian bullshit in that Executive Order is not the right way to fix the problem. "Fixing" homelessness with cruelty is no better than "fixing" immigration with cruelty.

At a macro level, this administration’s approach is textbook: mobilize support by directing blame outward - at immigrants, minorities, the unhoused, or anyone deemed “other.” It’s a politics of scapegoating, not problem-solving.
But now we’re entering the next phase - the point where they’ve run out of convenient targets. The latest move to round up and incarcerate people with mental health issues marks a dangerous pivot: turning punitive machinery inward, criminalizing vulnerability under the guise of public safety.
This isn't governance; it's moral decay. When your political survival depends on finding new “others” to fear and punish, the system inevitably begins to cannibalize itself - shedding empathy, hacking away at civil liberties, and throwing even once-loyal groups under the bus to maintain control.

Once they're out of homeless people, they'll come for the other "undesirables" (people who don't align with their moral ideals)
We've learned both everything and nothing from history

“Sexually dangerous persons” has a definition if you check out the actual statute they cite in the order. It’s violent sex criminals and child molesters only.
Aggravating_Plant848@reddit
Thing is, the secret society they belong to actively forces women to be with women and men to be with men, so it's not the true reason. It's because you won't join their evil religion.

They've compiled lists of all disabled Americans. The first attack on the privacy of Americans by doge was ssa. That information was then willingly handed over to them by scotus. They know the names, ssn, addresses, phone numbers, etc of every person who's gotten ssdi or ssi. Not to mention even applied. Next they handed over medicaid information to ice. They already have all our private health information.
But I'm sure this is all fine.

It's their culture that defined what mental illness is in the U.S. and outside of it. You can get pathologized for "wrong think" and "wrong feel". When people are isolated and disconnected from the community because we are brought up to self serve and there are corporations that exploit people or deny people life saving treatment for profit. That people think it's normal or ok to judge others 24 7 365 for pretty much anything and not see that darkness within themselves. People also need to realize emotions and thoughts guide one another that they are not these distinct separate entities that don't have effect on one or the other. Of a person's emotional needs aren't met is it really that all suprising plus everything else mentioned that you get people like a recent mario brother or serial killers or murderers or criminals or any such things? We may be in a class war but we are also in a spiritual one on how we treat eachother.
KarlaMarqs1031@reddit
I posted this in another sub but it bears repeating:
I would also like to take this chance to highlight that one of P25’s goals is to make child sex offenders immediately eligible for the death penalty, and among those set to be labeled as such are any parties that discuss or teach children about trans issues, health, or existence. THIS can be found on page 4, with further explain on page 554.
Trans folks are one the most affected demographic re: homelessness. So you have a twofer to guarantee maximum elimination of this specific group of people.
OtelDeraj@reddit
I live in MN, and GOP state reps literally tried to introduce a bill to label "TDS" as a classified mental health diagnosis. The bill died after one of the reps involved got caught trying to solicit a minor. Weird coincidence , right? Birds of a feather.
In all seriousness though, had that bill passed it would serve as carte blanche to arrest and institutionalize anyone who dissents from the regime. This whole admin, no the whole party, needs to go. They're selling America down the river because they think they can keep the pendulum of power from swinging the other direction.

Nice_Fudge5914@reddit
The truth is that nobody should be in the 'upper ranks.' Representative democracy fails because it leaves room for corruption. When you hand someone your vote and they go ahead and vote differently than they promised, your political power was stolen from you. You gave away your vote to a person who has zero obligation to actually represent your interests. We must general work strike until our 'representatives' amend our founding documents to create a real-time ranked-choice direct democracy. We have the technology for every self-aware being to propose laws and actions relevant to their home habitat, in real time, using ranked choice. Capitalism fails because business owners don't allow workers to have an equal vote in the company. All socialism that has been tried has failed because it was tried with hierarchy. Hierarchy seems effective but it allows room for corruption. The second one person has power, they will abuse it. We have the technology to govern ourselves, now. We should do it.

So he'll send ICE to LA and SF to roust the homeless, AND TDS bluehair zey/zems, then send in the marines when there's pushback. It's a pretty big 'or' in the EO.

Agree , but this is why this is all a bunch of b* because each state's going to have their own district basically saying this is no good and how is it ever going to be enforced if you have 20 States saying it's okay and 30 States saying it's not okay it doesn't make any sense. I mean how can you enforce anything if you're under a federal court injunction even if it is just locally

another "alligator Alcatraz" ?
what "other means"?
So this applies to:
(1) individuals who are a danger to themselves OR
(2) or others
AND
(A) suffer from serious mental illness
(B) or substance use disorder,
(B) or who are living on the streets and cannot care for themselves
Wow, someone please diagram whatever this means?
Like someone with a substance abuse disorder (B) (not homeless) could be said is (1) a danger to themselves, so they can be civilly committed to "other appropriate facilities"

Funny story is that even people living on some mobile homes (not those parked on a trailer park) and cars will be considered homeless too 😂, for some states living in a mobile home (those on the roads) permanently is not permitted so now they will also fall under the homeless executive decree 😂 because some states don't consider mobile homes a residence, cars are not a residence so basically homeless 😆

I do not think Vance will end up as supreme leader either, but this President is a figurehead at this point and I believe they will keep him in there if they can.
They are trying to set precedents now on immigration where they enjoy a plurality of support to use later for suppressing dissent and fixing elections.
The Supreme Court canceling the federal judiciary's ability to halt systematic government abuses was a really big part of that precedent. Expect martial law at some point.

“ But the one great shocking occasion, when tens or hundreds or thousands will join with you, never comes. That’s the difficulty. If the last and worst act of the whole regime had come immediately after the first and smallest, thousands, yes, millions would have been sufficiently shocked—if, let us say, the gassing of the Jews in ’43 had come immediately after the ‘German Firm’ stickers on the windows of non-Jewish shops in ’33. But of course this isn’t the way it happens. In between come all the hundreds of little steps, some of them imperceptible, each of them preparing you not to be shocked by the next. Step C is not so much worse than Step B, and, if you did not make a stand at Step B, why should you at Step C? And so on to Step D.
And one day, too late, your principles, if you were ever sensible of them, all rush in upon you. The burden of self-deception has grown too heavy, and some minor incident, in my case my little boy, hardly more than a baby, saying ‘Jewish swine,’ collapses it all at once, and you see that everything, everything, has changed and changed completely under your nose. The world you live in—your nation, your people—is not the world you were born in at all. The forms are all there, all untouched, all reassuring, the houses, the shops, the jobs, the mealtimes, the visits, the concerts, the cinema, the holidays. But the spirit, which you never noticed because you made the lifelong mistake of identifying it with the forms, is changed. Now you live in a world of hate and fear, and the people who hate and fear do not even know it themselves; when everyone is transformed, no one is transformed. Now you live in a system which rules without responsibility even to God. The system itself could not have intended this in the beginning, but in order to sustain itself it was compelled to go all the way.”
Low-Crow-8735@reddit
I wonder how they will know about a mental health diagnosis? DOGE?
lucylouwho1@reddit
Unpopular opinion here…I am glad people are talking about this. I worked with the homeless for over 6 years. I quickly realized that, at least in Toledo OH where I worked, those that were homeless (or just a step up from being homeless) were for the most part mentally ill. Then, there were those that preyed on them. It was a horrific cycle or desperation and violence. 99.9% of the people I encountered weren’t down on their luck so to speak. They encountered some tragedy that overwhelmed them and their support network. They self medicated and became prey for the violent offenders. Once they were attacked, they just rolled with it, embraced their new identity, and survived, usually until they died. The systems in place today cannot effectively treat and solve for this issue. We need fresh ideas and, if needed, some level of civil confinement because what we are doing now isn’t working.
Foe117@reddit
So Incarceration to rot in a jail for homeless people? This is not to fund or create "Asylums" just to straight up jail them in a gulag and treated as prisoners.
lucylouwho1@reddit
That’s not quite what I mean. I only state that we need to have hard conversations and talk about this. The system today does nothing to treat the underlying cause and it creates victims while enabling abusers. We need to do better. These people deserve better than that from us.
ChaosRainbow23@reddit
I agree, but this EO isn't it.
They will NOT be helping these people. They will be hurting them.
I was a substance abuse counselor for several years and worked / volunteered in harm reduction advocacy for years after that.
Building concentration camps for the homeless, addicted, and mentally ill ISN'T a good thing.
Just watch. They are going to start enslaving these folks.
lucylouwho1@reddit
I completely agree. But this is spurring meaningful conversation…something that has failed to happen. I am very thankful for that. At the end of the day, the EO I think will be a nothing burger. But….people are actually talking about this. I’ll take my wins where I can get them.

Institutionalize where? Reagan closed that all down. Institutions that still exist, at least in my state, are barely functioning at best due to cuts. Medicaid cuts very well might finish them off. Where are these open institutions to hold the estimated 300k people? Also, 300k? How many people are in the U.S. total? Like how is this such a HUGE problem that we need to build new facilities for these folks? Listen, you’re not going to solve generational trauma by imprisoning and potentially killing those with the least among us. In fact, you’ll just make the problem worse.

Or an otherwise special needs child? Ever been homeless? Doing the van or camper life? Im sure I’ve left some things out but you get the picture. Now they are coming for us. Just another in the long line of useless distractions to waste taxpayers money try to get folks away from him being a pedophile. Is it finally time to please impeach this corrupt sorry ‘administration’ ?

EarlGreyAllDay6969@reddit
Nah, Scifi writers specifically write about what's going on the society around them. That's why they always seem relevant. The Bell Riots were based off of the previous riots the writers had experienced in the news.
None of this is new guys. Democracy and civil rights have never had a period where they were adequate, safe and protected.
It is a constant struggle to keep those things alive and healthy and to protect them.
Your great grandfather's literally took up rifles against billionaire factory and mine owners. They laid TNT and violently opposed the hired thugs so that YOU would have any kind of basic labour rights, safety and pay. They are the sole reason your kids don't have to work, that we have any kind of weekend or labour rights.
Your grandfathers were beaten, gassed and had dogs sicked on their crutches so that YOU and your neighbours had a right to vote, to dismantle segregation.
Now it's up to US, in this generation, to keep the struggles, as numerous and hard as they are, alive. To continue fighting for our ideals and for our rights. And not just ours, but those of our friends, family and neighbours. We are not in this alone.

It will likely be tossed by the courts. The federal government cannot impose such requirements on states and localities without also providing resources. A similar situation played out in Trump 1.0 regarding a Trump decree that states and local governments round up illegal immigrants. It was tossed by the courts since the federal government was not providing the resources to implement. This is just Trump playing to his base, distracting from the ongoing Epstein saga.

From the EO:
(i) enforce prohibitions on open illicit drug use;
(ii) enforce prohibitions on urban camping and loitering;
(iii) enforce prohibitions on urban squatting
And
These actions shall include, to the extent permitted by law, ending support for “housing first” policies that deprioritize accountability and fail to promote treatment, recovery, and self-sufficiency
So don't give them housing first, get them off drugs
And
require those funding recipients to share such data with law enforcement authorities in circumstances permitted by law and to use the collected health data to provide appropriate medical care to individuals with mental health diagnoses or to connect individuals to public health resources.

Big_Fortune_4574@reddit
My pastor in the southeast was a Theonomist.
EscapeFacebook@reddit
That's for alot of them partially because in the 70s and 80s Christian groups backed by billionaires rampped up efforts and campaigned around the country to pastors that the Liberals and leftists were going to take over the country if they didn't actively fight back and start christianizing the nation. That's when they started telling people that democracy was anti-christian because it subverted the will of God for the will of the majority.
HommeMusical@reddit

Kate-2025123@reddit

They're going to round up the homeless and "mentally ill", and they're going to put them in concentration camps.
Vagrancy laws will be used the way they were in the Jim Crow South. Political opposite will be labeled as mentally unwell. The War on Drugs will continue to be used as a cudgel to beat minority communities, but instead of prison they'll end up in the camps.

Expect a lot more conce tration camps, which are being built by rich Republican donors. Trump will soon label his political enemies as "insane" and then lock them up. He has already declared Democrats are crazy many, many times and called them a danger to American society.
HarryBalsag@reddit
We used to have facilities for the mentally ill but RINO Reagan cut them all.
This is straight out of the fascist playbook: Create a problem, demonize it then provide a "solution".
mojeaux_j@reddit
If you want to be mad about anything it's the Community Mental Health Centers Act that you should really be mad at anyways and it wasn't signed by Reagan, it was signed by JFK.
mojeaux_j@reddit
Them facilities weren't a solution though. They were murdering and experimenting on patients. Reagan was actually right in shutting down most of those facilities. Not having a backup plan was the main issue that hurt everything. Went from cruel and inhumane living situations to nothing.
HarryBalsag@reddit
Straight out of the fascist playbook:
They deny funding for these facilities, creating these deplorable conditions and then use the conditions they created as an excuse to shut down the program. If these programs were properly funded and supervised (you know, like those pesky liberals), they could be a viable alternative to our current homeless encampment situation.
mojeaux_j@reddit
The thing is they were fully funded during the experimental times. A ton of medical research was done during that time but it was done in a cruel way before there were patient advocacy rights. This was all before Reagan and him shutting down the institutions. Not all of them were run tip top and some were just murder camps with no end goals. Some had end goals of medical science but still murder camps at the end of the day.
nobody4456@reddit
An interesting take on the privatization of government is the Pathfinder series by Emma Newman. The second book specifically looks at camps for the homeless, etc. and how they will be used in corporate society.

What do we think they needed 80k ICE agents for….. this is federally mandated and administered. It seems if you read it closely that the feds can bully states into cómplice by withholding federal funds.
Zealousideal_Oil4571@reddit
This has all played out in the courts before. During Trump 1.0 he tried to bully states and cities regarding illegal immigrants. Remember the whole sanctuary cities controversary? It was tossed by the courts, noting that the federal government could not force states into an action by witholding funds. It's possible that courts today could overturn past precedents, but I'd be surprised if they do so. I think this is just red meat for the base, one more attempted distraction from the ongoing Epstein saga.
