Place a 4K camera inside of my coffin and livestream my decomposition.

I'm not planning on dying anytime soon, but when the time comes why not let the world watch me rot?
I just think it's a fun idea as an homage to the shock sites of the early internet. Instead of rotten dot com, it's watch me rot dot com!
Beautiful-Toe7003@reddit
there is a sick movie exactly on this topic
user_5011981@reddit
I think the idea is good. I have similar thoughts. I like the thought of someone watching my body rot. Since there is no bodyfarm in Germany, I would have it done that way or prepare it myself. A donation to a necrophile would be nicer.
DMG_88@reddit
Some people donate their body to science so scientists and other observers can watch the decomposition process.
Growinbudskiez@reddit
That happens at the Tennessee Body Farm and other medical facilities as well. They have bodies all over the place, inside and outside.
Paleodraco@reddit
Came here to mention the body farms. Although, I've never heard of one that looked at decomp for embalmed bodies.
janKalaki@reddit
It’s because that part of the facility is for recreational use.
FerrisBuelersdaycock@reddit
this is crazy, i have no words
smoky_ink_32@reddit
it will remind us the meaning of live

Couple of issues with that ignoring the giant ick factor:
Power (cameras need them to work)
Light (cameras need them to see)
Storage (cameras need them to store the images) -even timelapse is going to stack up over years/decades
Degradation of the camera itself (they are not built as tough as you think)

worms crawl in, the worms crawl out The worms play pinochle on your snout They eat your eyes, they eat your nose They eat the jelly between your toes
[Verse 3] A big green worm with rolling eyes Crawls in your stomach and out your eyes Your stomach turns a slimy green And pus pours out like whipping cream You spread it on a slice of bread And that's what you eat when you're dead
[Verse 4] And the worms crawl out, the worms crawl in The worms that crawl in are lean and thin The ones that crawl out are fat and stout Your eyes fall in and your hair falls out Your brain comes tumbling down your snout
[Chorus] The worms crawl in, the worms crawl out They crawl all over your dirty snout Your chest caves in and your eyes pop out And your brain turns to sauerkraut
[Verse 5] They invite their friends, and their friends too They all come down to chew on you And this is what it is to die Hope you had a nice goodbye
[Verse 6] Did you ever think as a hearse goes by That you may be the next to die? And your eyes fall out and your teeth decay And that is the end of a perfect day
[Chorus] The worms crawl in, the worms crawl out The worms play pinochle on your snout They eat your eyes, they eat your nose

I think it's a great idea. It would be a great scientific video.
Gazdatronik@reddit
There was a site called "seemerot.com" about 20 years ago with this exact premise but it was not real I think.
minmega@reddit
Man the early internet seemed so fun.
TanMomsChickenSoup@reddit
Geocities.
NikonShooter_PJS@reddit
You think so but then suddenly you're 12 years old and thinking "Hahaha I wonder if anyone's ever eaten poops before" and then suddenly you're seeing a woman with a mouth full of shit and, man, it's really hard to go back to watching 3rd Rock From The Sun after that.
NUMBerONEisFIRST@reddit
How about the guy that sold tickets to see him Livestream cutting his legs off?
I could be confusing multiple events, but shit like this really happened on the early internet.
Before likes and clout were even a thing.
Gazdatronik@reddit
It was the wild west. Stuff just went up there and nobody was governing anything
Kurigohan-Kamehameha@reddit
I would’ve always been late to everything
WagonHitchiker@reddit
Just ask them to let you move in The Body Farm.
Infamous-Arm3955@reddit
It be a lot more interesting if you weren't dead.
P1zzaman@reddit
We keep hearing how people who are buried alive scratch the inside of their coffin lids like their life depends on it.
It will be quite interesting to see that being livestreamed.
sockpoppit@reddit
Do you want us to call anyone if we see you move?
doctorlongghost@reddit
The logistics would be tricky.
You would need to be buried in a coffin with lights and a camera inside it. The camera would probably need to be hard wired to provide power and get the picture out since wireless wouldn’t penetrate the ground.
I think you may want the coffin to be waterproof so that it didn’t collapse or flood and ruin the view. But by creating essentially a closed system you would prevent a faster decay.
If the camera and lights was sturdy and waterproofed then you might be able to get them to last long enough before dying to actually get what you’re going for. But it’s also possible they die before things get really interesting
Growinbudskiez@reddit
Put some extra cameras in there on standby. Redundancies here could save the day.
DoubleDareFan@reddit
Put them in different locations, getting different angles. If one goes belly up, viewers can just switch to another.
AbrogationsCrown@reddit
Perhaps instead of in a coffin, laying outside in a forest somewhere with a cage / mesh to prevent animals from moving the body while allowing insects and weathering to decompose naturally. A live stream might not be necessary as it adds a ton of power and data draw and theres likely not much going on in real time so maybe a photo per day from a trailcam that gets auto uploaded to a server to be published online. That would allow a time-lapse to be made as well.
dbev9044@reddit
I was right there on board with you and just posed the idea to my husband.
The look. Oh…the look.
Giff13@reddit
There was a website called seemerot dot com back in the oughts. This is what it was
skubydobdo@reddit
I’ll watch!!
DonkeyGlad653@reddit
I’m not going to watch you decay. But I laughed out loud knowing that this is pretty good idea.
devro1040@reddit
Anyone else remember seemerot.com from back in the 00s? Turns out it was just a gif on repeat. But it was pretty early days of internet video and a lot of people believed it.
shponglespore@reddit
Metal AF.
Naive_Carpenter7321@reddit
There used to be a fake website called seemerot .com (no longer live) which 'offered' this service, there was a "live stream" on the home page
spykids3D@reddit
David Cronenberg's latest film, The Shrouds, is literally about this.
TribalChief2025@reddit
Plot twist- the series actually begins when you're testing camera setups and accidentally lock the lid from inside.
sagima@reddit
In the same way we have ai animate photos we could use it so you could give a little wave every now and then to the people watching
mgarr_aha@reddit
Make sure the domain registration doesn't expire.

Yup, this is insane. Well done, you earned my upvote weirdo.
