Would a newspaper be interested in a bit-part actor being exposed as a groomer?

Today there's been a couple of posts on Instagram from young men alleging sexual abuse while they were underage. The person in question once had a line in. Hollywood film. It's been an open secret in our community for years and he's always evaded justice. Is it a good idea to tip off the press - with links to the accounts - or wait until there are actual charges?

It's for the people involved to report, not someone who heard a rumor. You have no evidence.

No. Without police involvement that would be defamation - IE allegation based on hearsay. No media will touch it.

In this day and age, probably not tbh... The media \*seem\* to be much more restrained when it comes to this and will more just mirror the progress of police + court involvement. If you really want to go the media route then you'd probably get an independent right-wing media outlet to cover the story. They love talking about this kind of topic. But tbh you're probably much wiser to let the police know about these posts.
