Is the Trek FX +1S a good choice for an E bike?

The estimates for Allant+ series on battery life have been good. Suspect this is comparable in terms of accuracy. Of course hills can drain a bit quicker but you learn to optimize, and as your riding improves you might use less assist. Really depends if you think 50 mile round trips will be standard for you (assume that is eco assist too). When it comes to a removable battery, I view it as good optionally, but is it worth the price? From late winter into early winter I only remove my battery when cleaning my bike and it’s on a bike stand. Otherwise I charge with the battery in. I remove on days when it’s below freezing to charge the battery indoors. So battery removal depends on your situation. If you plan to take a round trip near the max range and you haven’t been riding in a long time, having the ability to remove and recharge is good (ie commuting to work or somewhere you have access to a plug). If I was presented with the option today, same bike significantly cheaper with non removable battery I would likely go with the non removable, even if it meant rolling the bike into my mudroom during the winter. If I didn’t have the ability to charge in my garage all the other times, I would go with removable.
