Where can I get decent large bath towels from?

Having the bathroom ripped out by the landlord and replaced finally and the works start on Monday! Hooray! All our towels are around 10 years old, are scratchy and have shrunk. I need replacements but need them to be large (I have long hair and a chubby body to dry) and soft. I'm really struggling to find ones that are either big enough or feel like good quality towels. Any suggestions?

Dunelm towels are nice and fluffy. Also, they stay that way if you don't add any softener to the wash, use less detergent and dial in a higher temperature.

Disagree. My towels got scratchy. Bought a full set of different sizes from dunelm, nice and soft. Did the first wash on some yesterday, no softener, only half a capful of detergent, 50°. Now they're all scratchy!! Very annoyed!!

Scratchy is best, you need friction to get properly dry

John Lewis towels come in lots of colours and sizes (including huge bath sheets) and they last really well

I didn't even think of that and I've got one about 10 minutes drive away! I've tried Tesco, Next and a few similar places so far and they are either too small or just don't feel nice and soft enough

Sainsbury's are good if you want a set as they own habitat which were always good for homeware. Alternatively you could try Mitre who are a hospitality wholesaler who sells to consumers on the side.

I was in the same boat and ended up getting bath sheets from TK Maxx. Proper hotel size, actually soft, and they don’t shrink into postage stamps after a few washes. M&S also does good ones if you catch them on sale. Anything labelled 'bath sheet' rather than just towel is usually what you’re after.

Tesco, Asda, sainburys and almost any homewards department will have bath sheets just be sure they are called bath sheets, now kits towels and they will be the larger size.
