Overhaul email protocol to act like IMs. Emails act too much like physical mail, where anyone can fill your inbox, and thus we get tons if spam.

We need to overhaul the email protocol to act more like instant messengers, where you need to accept/decline invites and only your contacts can message you. This way, you have controls, on who to block whenever anyone starts spamming you, instead of requiring regulations and companies implementing email unsubscriptions on their side.
Not everyone has a phone number, or a specific app like FB, Snapschat, etc, so if has to be a standard protocol any client can implement.
