TIL about Dudeism. A modern form of Taoism, stripped of its metaphysical and medical doctrines, that emerged from the cult classic The Big Lebowski. It advocates for “going with the flow”, “being cool headed”, & “taking it easy” in the face of life’s difficulties.

I’ve been a Dudeist priest for about eight years. Ain’t nothing to it really. Just take everything easy and be kool. I can even officiate weddings and such.

Yes, maybe, like but Dudeism misses something vital that Taoism doesn't. Nonbeing. A person who experiences it sees through the lie of the ego, and subsequently lives a dudelike life. Otherwise, we might just be playing the role of a dude, and reinforcing our senseof self... that's the opposite of Taoism.
