Disco (80s) Themed Hen Party - outfit suggestions?
Posted by Grumpy-Kitten12@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 10 comments
My sister-in-laws hen is at an 80s bottomless brunch. So they originally suggested 80s theme, she wasn’t overall happy with it so it was changed to general ‘disco’ theme, but along the same era.
I have no idea what to wear!! It’s during August so should be relatively warm. And should be lots of walking for us around the city to different places. Looking for any suggestions of where to find clothes like this or any outfit ideas.
Thank you!!

If the bride didn't like the 80's theme then I'd lean more into disco. Still big hair, hoops and bright lipstick but with a sequin mini dress or lame jumpsuit.

I like that idea! Thank you for giving ideas for the accessories too :)

Boiler suit and lots of eyeliner

Big up the hair and earrings, add a big chunky pendant and some bangles to anything coloured and comfortable. Bright lipstick.
Job done.

White stilettos with neon leg warmers, snow washed denim mini skirt, a pastel or neon bat-winged, off-shoulder top tied in a knot at the waist. As big hair as you can get. Lots of big jewellery and every bracelet you own - beads and leather is the way to go. Blue/purple/pink eyeshadow altogether and frosted pink lipstick. Lace bow in hair. Look at Madonna in Desperately Seeking Susan.
Source: 80s was my era, and I miss it and my big hair.

Off the shoulder t-shirt with denim shorts and a bumbag. Scrunched down knee socks and white trainers. Hair in an off-centre ponytail with a big scrunchie if you have long hair. Everything neon if possible.

Thank you! Seems like the general 80s rule for the evening, I was hoping for a more dressed up version, just because it’s a dayer into evening out in the city, drinking. Would it be the same or something different for a night out?? 😁

Night out would probably be lurex or taffeta, and BIG hair. Google 'Joan Collins 80s' for an idea. You'll most likely have to hit up vintage stores for a dress though, it's (luckily) not something that's really come back in style.

And to add! Sorry that other people have suggested they are wearing glittery items etc so more along disco theme. That’s why I’m so clueless as to what to wear! And to highlight I definitely wasn’t born in 80s either. I’m 25, lol! So I have no idea.
