Where to buy basic t-shirts if you don't care about clothes?
Posted by Ok_Piano471@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 39 comments
I hate buying clothes and I don't care how I look.
I want to buy a bunch of cotton t-shirts that are both reasonable priced and durable. Is there any website which offers this and a more competitive price based on lower overhead of not having physical location? any recommendation in general?
Thank you in advance for any feedback

Buy in bulk? Forgot how is it called, but there are website that sells clothes per kilo... so you can buy like 5kg of basic T-shirts for £10 or something

Honestly I love TruClassic. They fit reallly well and are just plain. No branding.
They’re all I wear.

Lidl, when they have them in the middle.
They're usually just a few quid (e.g. they have some black ones at the moment that are £3.99) and are perfectly reasonable quality,

Amazon - Charles Wilson (or buy direct if you feel like it)

I wear these ones and they are excellent quality

Just don’t order online or it isn’t guaranteed to arrive

That’s where I get mine from. They seem to last too

Honestly I bought some shirts from ASDA for £4 in 2012 and they're still going strong. I don't know if the new stuff is the same though.

I gave up a bit with women's tees and resorted to amazon, and those have been fine.
Was really struggling to find anything on the high street that wasn't cropped/high neck (which doesn't suit the boobs) or both.

I like the plain white basic teeshirts from Fruits of the Loom; I buy them online from Amazon/eBay.

The other week Tesco were doing 25% off clothes, I got some of their 2 for £8 t shirts for £6.
Also Primark t shirts are only £2.50, I got a white one, orange one and light blue one last week.
I mean a t shirt for the same price as half a pint of beer can’t be bad.

Michael’s has T shirts for about $3.00. Usually near the fabric paint area.

Haha I like this. Quality wise though it’s not comparable to primark. So much better.

Oddly enough Decathlon sell good quality and cheap plain tee-shirts

You can get good quality, plain, basic t shirts, such as Gildan and Fruit of the Loom very cheaply from companies such as this one https://www.screentextiles.co.uk/gildan-m281

Firelabel wholesale. They have all the basics like Gildan, fruit of the loom, Russell athletic less than £10 each in every colour. You can buy individually but they get cheaper if you buy in bulk. Not just t-shirts but hoodies and sweats too.

Just pick some up wherever you are/are passing... do you shop in Sainsbury's? Walk past a Next? Etc

Any supermarket like Sainsbury’s/Tesco. Or for online basics H&M, Next and ASOS.

Also Amazon can be reasonably priced…. Have to go by reviews as sometimes quality can be bad.

Amazon basic fruit of the loom packs come in at less than fiver each shirt. Fruit of the loom is excellent quality but just basic shape with no branding.

H&M

M&S Basic Tees are good too. 3-for-£22

They used to be but now they shrink the first time you wash them
XBumheadX@reddit
Blanks websites like Pencarrie. I order singles of different styles to find the fit I want then order a load in different colours. You can give the singles a wash to check shrinkage too.
I bought a multipack from rapanui thinking they’d be quality and they shrank in the wash.
You can check for pre-shrunk to avoid this but they tend to be more expensive.

Primark basic T-shirts are cheap and fine for the money, but I don’t think they deliver.
melanie110@reddit
No, but you can now do click and collect. That’s a god send
Cultural_Tank_6947@reddit
Pretty much any high street retailer will have offers on basic t-shirts. Literally doesn't matter which one.
Just Google 3/5/7 pack tees and take your pick.
KosmoNautes@reddit
Rapanui plain t-shirt packs.
tinytink05@reddit
Uniqlo is a solid shout, Amazon do multipacks too heavyweight and light.
scrotal-massage@reddit
Activewear Group, Jacamo. Both pretty good.
PsychologicalDrone@reddit
Sainsbury’s occasionally have a 2 for £8 deal on basic T-shirts. I always stock up when they do
