That first one is legitimately one of the best shots of an airplane I’ve ever seen, kudos!

I shot today and got a better version of that photo. Pumped to get it edited.

If you can figure out who is in the back seat you can probably sell them a copy. Looks like he's looking right at you, lol.
suzuka_joe@reddit (OP)
I’d pay big money if it was me in the backseat lol
NassauTropicBird@reddit
I'm pretty sure you can't buy a ride.
suzuka_joe@reddit (OP)
You can’t. They give rides to school teachers and stuff.

p.s: Slap a fat watermark on it and email it to the Blue Angles and ask if they'd send it to the guy, along with your contact info.

Wasn't it just incredible?! We drove in from a few states away and I just savored every moment. They are stunning and your photography did them justice good and well. A sense of mystic and powerful grace. I hope you enjoyed it today and you are not sunburnt!
suzuka_joe@reddit (OP)
Not sunburnt! Hid out under an umbrella and used lots of sunscreen on the beach. Next year I’m getting a room in one of the resorts for sure
NassauTropicBird@reddit
Better book it now
suzuka_joe@reddit (OP)
Tried. Rooms open up in 2 weeks for booking
NassauTropicBird@reddit
Ah. Better try the minute they open up for booking, no joke - I spent 7 years in the travel industry in Florida.
You can also check from time to time between booking and the event, you never know when some bizarre things happens and rates go down. Back when I set rates for a rental car company in Florida I'd set rates for, say, Christmas, a year from now I'd set them stupidly high until we got a feel for how that particular holiday would go. Since we always sold out, and I mean always, I could afford to wait until later.
I remember setting minivans in Melbourne to $1,599 a week for Christmas Eve thinking there's no way anyone would book them at that price. We only had maybe 10 in that location and damned if they all didn't sell out at that price before I went back to adjust them to more normal prices.

Were these taken on Friday? Were you on the pier with me lol? I'm currently editing the exact same photos lol.

This was Friday. I was further down close to the Fairfield. But I was shooting with a 300gm and 1.4x tc on an A1 body. These are lightly cropped. I’ll make another post for my Saturday favorites because I ended up with even better photos. I wish I was on the pier

Gracious 😍

These are some dam clear shots considering the humidity. You can clearly see paint chips and cockpit details better than I usually see and if you need them ID the pilots even with the helmets, nice work.
suzuka_joe@reddit (OP)
I’ve got others that are closer to the cockpits. The circular polarizer really helps cut thru the glass

What lens? I held off on a CPL on my Sony 200-600mm because the filter is pricey when many report that this lens won’t focus well with the filter.
suzuka_joe@reddit (OP)
300gm and 1.4xtc here

Ah, very nice. Great shots.

Oh wow, thank you for posting. I’ve seen the Blue Angels perform once, one of the highlights of my life!
OptimusSublime@reddit
Do you just fire and forget on burst mode and hope you get lucky or are you specifically waiting and framing these specific shots? These are incredible.
suzuka_joe@reddit (OP)
Sony A1 + 300gm and this is with the 1.4x tc. Spray and pray 😂😂this was the last frame where it was full plane, he was going so fast I straight missed it from here. I’ll try again today

That shot of the exhausts is better than I've seen anywhere else. Well done
