I rolled my own for a while but mostly because you got a better cig for less. I had a type of roller that basically stuffed it into a casing with a filter. Tobacco was better and you could get a whole carton of those filtered empty cigarettes for next to nothing.
I wasn’t really a hippie though, more of a rocker I guess. I played in a band and at 19 that was my whole personality lol. Worked for me at the time though.
I’m good with it. I’m happy smoking and drugs were just a phase for me. I feel lucky about that to be honest. My sister and best friend weren’t so lucky, and it sucks. Miss them alot
I remember they were giving packs of American Spirts away for free one year at Bonnaroo, maybe 06 or 07? They were so bad you still bought the jacked up $9 Marb lights when you found them.
Sure, they were more “natural” but all those chemicals and shit are what made the Marbs good. You can’t bake a cake without flour.
I remember that campaign. Certainly worked for us to at least try it. They also exploded the logo so it wrapped around the pack. Ah, those were the days
Oh man…different order but that was my series of favorites. Plus the Camel special blends they released in the early 2000s…I can’t remember what they were called though.
And same…parliament lights were my longest and most favorite brand up until I quit for good.
I'll bet a pack of Marb Lights costs about fifty bucks these days. That's why I switched to vaping with my Douche Flute even though I'm certain it'll kill me just as dead and I'll look like an asshole the whole time.
But an addiction is a responsibility, so...
I still wear Love Spell, just the perfume version. Still get loads of compliments on the scent, still drives the boys crazy lol. I prefer it over the Gucci and Armani scents I've been gifted and it's way cheaper.
You have my sympathy. I was next to Seaside/Jersey Shore. We also had military from McGuire/Dix/Lakehurst but they were far enough that they'd only roll into towns on weekends.
So I mentioned pear glace' in my comment, because it was the biggest seller at VS at that time, but I personally liked strawberries and champagne better.
I got into the Juniper Breeze in those days, and as a non smoker, my vice scent was probably the Jack and Coke on my lips. We all wore barely-there tops in jewel tones, black Express slacks, and those Steve Madden platform slides that indicate we should all have night serums by now.
I'm allergic to something bath and body works puts in some of their products. Would give me a headache from hell. Loved the smell on girls, but instant headache. But I was also the guy they were bumming those Marlboro lights from. 😁

Sunflowers and CK One

I still have an old bottle of CK One, that scent totally takes me back in time

Yup I'm hard. Guess I just needed this, not viagra.
CorporalCabbage@reddit
It seemed like everyone smoked Marb lights or Parliments.
I used to smoke Camels just to be a little different.
Seattle_Lucky@reddit
Started with Camels but moved to Marlboro lights. Found the latter to be smoother/less harsh.
Did we all have that hippie friend that smoked American Spirits?
confusedandworried76@reddit
Smoked em, brother I rolled my own. I also walked barefoot everywhere
Biguitarnerd@reddit

DirtRight9309@reddit
if by make you mean widen the flares with patchwork fabric, abso fucking lately! 😂
Seattle_Lucky@reddit
Awesome. I would drift between the hippie kids and the Abercrombie crowd. Hippies were more fun but the Abercrombie kids had better drugs 🤣

idk who downvoted you, it’s true 🤷🏻♀️

Bias_Cuts@reddit
Of course. But were they yellow or blue pack?
Seattle_Lucky@reddit
Blue was all I remember. Not sure if I ever got to try a yellow. I was at the mercy of whatever was being smoked at the time.
LarryDaBastard@reddit
I was that friend
CorporalCabbage@reddit
lol. Literally a white kid with dreads.
Entropy907@reddit
Camel Wide guy myself but I loved clove cigarette girls, something about that depressed gothic emo vibe.
CorporalCabbage@reddit
I looooved camel wides. Dated a girl who smoked them. She was a freak.
96385@reddit
Camel Wides. Like smoking two at a time.
sleepsymphonic@reddit
I fluctuated between Camel Lights, Marb Lights, and the occasional Winston Lights to feel like my dad. How I miss these times.
Entropy907@reddit
I only smoked Winstons when I had to steal cigs from my dad. Goddamn those things were like a cheese grater on your throat.
Seattle_Lucky@reddit
Didn’t Winston make the switch to more natural cigs when we were late teens? I remember trying those too.
long_dog@reddit
Yes, if we can believe their advertising. I remember the "no additives" and "no bull" advertising. I smoked Winston Lights for many years.
Seattle_Lucky@reddit
I remember that campaign. Certainly worked for us to at least try it. They also exploded the logo so it wrapped around the pack. Ah, those were the days
Bias_Cuts@reddit
I went Cloves ➡️ Marlboro Reds ➡️ Camel Filters ➡️ Camel Lights ➡️ Parliament Lights before I gave it up for a vape and then finally quit.

Oh man…different order but that was my series of favorites. Plus the Camel special blends they released in the early 2000s…I can’t remember what they were called though.
And same…parliament lights were my longest and most favorite brand up until I quit for good.
ProbablyInebriated@reddit
I remember the camel special blends around like 2003. The orange ones were fantastic pretty awesome. I think they may have came in a tin too.
Leather_Addition2605@reddit
I had a Clove Lights phase. They weren’t light at all. It was like half clove, half Marb Reds, so you’d inhale it like a straight up cig.
After a year or so it was like razor blades to the throat.
Bias_Cuts@reddit
Oh man. Yeah. I totally inhaled cloves and yes, fragrant razor blades indeed.
Lornesto@reddit
Before I quit, I was Marlboro Lights or Reds.
I can't imagine smoking now. (Except grass)
ImRickJamesBiatchhh@reddit
