What’s the most you have ever paid for a concert/gig/event ticket?

Was it worth it? What did you get included in the ticket price? And more importantly…who did you see?

Some of these answers are pretty astonishing. I saw ' Cats' in the West End for £5 and that included the bus fare from Loughborough.

My 14 year old got really into oasis just before they reformed, I’ve got 2 tickets for us to go at 150 quid each, only ones left once I got through. I wasn’t planning to spend that much but figured I might end up paying that for not as good aftermarket ones anyway so fuck it. She’s sooo excited and grateful it’s already worth it tbh.

Ours were £220 each, but from the look of the videos, it'll be worth it.

That's a standard show price and at least half what most people paid!

Just paid £140 per ticket for Ludovici Einaldi at the Royal Albert Hall. Wasn't sure cost of these sort of things and wanted to get them so bad, found out I had one of the more expensive tickets, oh well. Can't wait!

£250 for Iron Maiden in Sheffield. It was hospitality, so no queueing, free curry before the concert with drinkies. It was alright, although they weren't that good that day, and I think we left before the end.

I've seen Iron Maiden a couple of times and always got the sense that they've emotionally checked out.

Yeah that's how it felt. Bruce doesn't really look the part any more either - I think he's said he only tours to get a bit of money, and it shows.

I paid about 1300 for my wife and her friend to see Taylor Swift last August. I didn’t go to the concert but it was worth every penny as they loved it.

That’s mad, I managed to buy tickets the morning of one of the Edinburgh shows through the official wait list (basically tickets that were held for production reasons that then get released to buy) for £50 each. It was basically right up the back of the stadium but 100% worth it. I’ve paid more for shorter (and lower quality) shows of other acts.

That’s a great price! In fairness these were good seats and booking in advance meant we made a weekend in London of it as two couples. We went to the pub whilst the girls were at the concert and it was a great time all round. :)

£102 for Muse at the AO Arena in Manchester in 2023. Kinda regretted it because the show was the same as the one in Milton Keynes earlier in the year. I’ve seen them on every tour since 2006 and it’s just getting so expensive now. £105 for Oasis at Wembley but that’s not until September, hoping that will be worth it. I go to a lot of gigs and I’m finding that most of my favourites are £50 - £75 now.

£200 to see Billy Joel in Edinburgh, plus travel from London. Now postponed to next June. I decided I didn't care how much I paid to see Ian McKellen's one-man show and once into the website, mashed buttons randomly until it let me check out with 2 tickets. £100 each, but middle of the front row - no regrets!

I think Billy Joel cancelled all his shows, I had tickets to Edinburgh too. First postponed now cancelled due to health reasons.

£150 for Beyonce. Regret not buying another ticket. In general tickets are around the £115 mark for big/popular artists. I miss the days where my top end was £60 max LOL

I think Bestival used to be about £280 back in the day. Besides that… I saw Jay Z and Kanye in New York in 2012 and it was $125

£150 for TOOL. Worth every penny. So baked that my head was lolling to one side for half of a tune, to the point where the bassist made eye contact with me and mocked me for it, then threw me a pick to the end of the show.

About £60-70 for V festival in 2005. I saw Oasis, the Prodigy and Faithless as well as a dozen other bands for that price. Looking at costs of Oasis tickets at the monent? It feels cheap!

Around £100 to see Blink 182. It was a spontaneous trip that I booked maybe 3-4 days in advance. I saw they were playing in Ireland, I could get a cheap flight there and I had never seen them, so figured why not. Seats I got were pretty good but not amazing. 2 days later the show is cancelled/postponed as Travis was having his latest baby. It was then rescheduled to the following year to on my birthday. So that was my birthday plans sorted - a solo trip to see them. Because it was postponed, I apparently got an upgraded ticket to right up the front. I could have been front row but hung back a little. So while it was annoying having to wait basically a year to see them, it was worth it in the end.

Glasto was like £285 or something. For a single gig £150ish for Oasis reunion. I still regret not buying tickets for Fleetwood Mac at Wembley around 2018-19 ISH, I remember it was like £125+ a ticket and I considered that just too much. But I've never seen them and probably never will at this stage, especially with Christine McVie being dead. I also turned down paying £250 to see the closing ceremony of the 2012 Paralympics (Coldplay / Rihanna / jay z), a couple of less well off friends did go.

I paid £700 for 2 Oasis tickets and I am not messing they had best fall out after this tour and never perform again or I will go berserk. This is the most I've ever ever ever spent on a gig or festival and I will not be doing it again.

£60ish for a couple of gigs at the piece hall last year - placebo and pixies - and roughly similar for killing joke at the Albert Hall. Other than that, rarely pay above £30

£111 for iron Maiden in Manchester. Seems a lot of people have said this. To be fair the tickets were £95, the fees were the rest. I drew the line at Metallica tickets, £125 before the fees.

For on gig I paid around £110 to see Iron Maiden in Birmingham, they were awesome as always and I had a great time. The most I have paid for a festival was Download this year which was around £300. Festivals are always better value and I saw a ton of bands ranging from Within Temptation to Cradle of Filth. I'm at Bloodstock next month and that was about £230 as i've paid extra for arrival on the Wednesday.
