Bosnia and Romania according to the democracy index Bosnia because of the Dayton system and Romania because of the recent scandal.

This is a joke for Romania, we changed so many govermnets and preaidents in the last years, but scored least than Serbia or Hungary.

It isn’t you annulled elections. That is a dangerous precedent

Annulling illegal elections is in fact a necessary precedent.

People voted in communism aswell lol
View on Reddit #61242868

they actually didn't though. There's only been a few countries or people that voted for communist like chile and cuba
View on Reddit #61773429

holyrs90@reddit

We did vote aswell bro, but it was only the name of our dictator in the ballot, so yes we did "vote".
View on Reddit #61773504

TallDarkGuapo@reddit

that's not an election if there's no freedom of choice. Comparing that to the Romanian election is wild.
View on Reddit #61773553

holyrs90@reddit

Yes, my point is election can be manipulated by a lot of factors, just bcs ppl voted for him, doesnt mean it was fair elections.
View on Reddit #61773628

TallDarkGuapo@reddit

it does this is why Romania dropped on the democracy index
View on Reddit #61773962

holyrs90@reddit

Those indexes are bullshit anyway, scandinavians are some of the most happiest countries in the world , yet they have the most suicides , so yeah make it make sense, sure u can have a general understanding, but wouldnt count on those to give accurate information.

XenophonSoulis@reddit

You don't know how a democracy is supposed to work, do you? Maybe, when you grow up, you'll learn how this election was illegal. There is a lot more in an election than "people voting". You need to ensure that the elections, as well as the campaign period, are run according to the regulations.
View on Reddit #61217276

TallDarkGuapo@reddit

no, actually that's not how it works. History will not remember fondly what Romania did. Even if this action was supported by Romanias providers in the EU.  democracy is a democracy, and you can't undermine someone's vote because you think they've been propagandized by misinformation
View on Reddit #61773409

XenophonSoulis@reddit

r/confidentlyincorrect In reality, that's exactly how it works. Have you read an election law in your life? Have you seen a constitution? Do you know what a constitution is? Or what democracy is? No, you clearly don't. The only way for democracy to work is if everyone follows the rules. Even one person/faction working against it can ruin it. This is why democracies (well, real democracies, not America) have strong laws to prevent election crime. > you can't undermine someone's vote In any case, no vote got undermined. The illegal candidate was removed and the election was redone in a fair manner, so that everyone could vote for a legal candidate.

they never proved him guilty. He was denied his rights.  This is why Romania is democracy index has declined almost 20 points in one year.   we are more democratic than your country will ever be. It's just that balkan countries are kind of important because they're so close to the east and not in the west really. evidently some weird elections will be had and weird candidates will win.   we will look away if a country like Greece or Romania keeps running elections until they get a candidate they want and won't rock the boat
View on Reddit #61774223

XenophonSoulis@reddit

The fact that you don't watch the events properly doesn't mean that they don't happen. > we are more democratic than your country will ever be. Actually, my country is several spots above yours in terms of democracy index. Try informing yourself better next time. > we will look away if a country like Greece or Romania keeps running elections until they get a candidate they want and won't rock the boat You should provide proof of your moronic claims really.

How do you define and measure the democracy, so that you get observer independently and repeatedly the same result? Any random index without explicitly defined method is useless and rather propaganda. Also if the "amount" is based on several measurables, the same should apply each one of them, i.e. the results should not depend on the entity measuring it and it should give the same result when repeated by someone else.

View on Reddit #61265519

Exciting_Walk2319@reddit

It depends what you mean by democracy. For example Croatia would be classified as non-democratic if you are Serb - you can not express your opinion in favour of your country because Serbia is something very evil in Croatia. They are even removing graves of serbian fallen soldiers who fought in 90s war at this point.

I would say Serbia. I’m not trying to suggest that the other countries in the Balkans are flawless democracies – take Albania, for example – but Serbia clearly stands out in a negative way. We've seen mass protests across the country, many of which are still ongoing. Yet the government has shown no willingness to respond, to seek compromise, or for the president to even consider stepping down. That kind of reaction – or rather, lack thereof – is not what you expect in a functioning democracy. In most democratic states, protests of that magnitude would lead to political consequences. Of course, every democracy experiences protests, but what makes Serbia different is the scale of the demonstrations, the deep public dissatisfaction, and the government’s complete refusal to take responsibility. And when it comes to corruption, we’re not just talking about stolen money or shady contracts. In Serbia, corruption has become deadly. What happened in Novi Sad, where civilians lost their lives, is a tragic example of how systemic corruption, negligence, and the protection of criminal structures can directly cost people their lives. This isn’t just undemocratic – it’s dangerous. But thats just my view from the outside.

Kaer__Morhen@reddit

In my opinion good and bad On one hand the people are realizing more and more what type of government this is (fascist, no I am not willing to argue with anyone about that, facts are facts) and want change On the other hand life in Serbia is realistically not too bad and few are willing to fight for change Now we have a problem with our people insisting on elections but the EU's and Russia's lapdog doesn't want that because he knows he'll lose or start a revolution if he "wins" so we have to keep this energy for another 2 years or until something like the canopy "incident" happens again and a revolution starts regardless of elections
View on Reddit #61202360

makaveddie@reddit

Appreciate the response! One of the things i've heard is that there is really no opposition to speak of. Perhaps there could be some value in the development & proliferation of a new party, like what happened here in montenegro?
