First time renter in a college town in CA, went to renew my apartment and the landlord made up some shit about how I didn't indicate i wanted to renew 6 months ahead of the lease end (lmao). I pressed him on this because it's bs that has totally been made up (nothing in my rental agreement about a renewal deadline), and he claimed they sent a paper, which he can't produce. I kinda hate the apartment and want to leave anyways, but i want to do something as an extra fuck you to him because he's a total sleazebag and what they're doing is sus as fuck.

There are small devices you can get that will make random noises for years you can put behind wall plates, light fixtures and creep the new tenants out: SHENGSEN Mixed 3 Pack Hidden Annoying Beep Office Prank Devices,Small Prank Chirp Noise Maker Including Different Sounds, Cricket,Beep and More,Point Guard Prank for April Fools Day Gag,Randomly

Once a day, at a random time. Some times may be unheard due to sleep/work, but when it sounds as if it was in the room, it has to be creepy!

The days before you move out put dry concrete down the drains you’ll need to use a sander or something that vibrates to really pack it deep in there then by the time you move out and someone runs water down the sink it will set

find some little nasties (bedbugs are especially potent) and introduce them to the apartment. check if/who to call about it when you blame them on him; depending where you live, there's a good chance you'll get your landlord in trouble and probably cost him a big chunk of change. if not, you'll still worsen his reputation simply by the fact his apartment now has critters lurking.

You can pick those up at Bed Bugs R' Us.

If the harm is effectively directed to the actual landlord rather than workers or subsequent tenants, 100% ethical
Jeremy_Lepak@reddit
Agreed! The new tenants probably have no idea about what the landlord is doing.

Post everywhere that the apartments are infested with bedbugs. Fake pictures. Fake testimonials. Give him a massive dose of misinformation from anonymous sources.

Report the landlord to the city for any small violation of the building code you can find.
