berryer@reddit
longer than that. How have we forgotten Tay so quickly?
Strikingprotocol@reddit
Dead, but not forgotten.
giant_shitting_ass@reddit
Being able to make offensive comments about politicians is about as fundamental to free speech as you can get. Policing this type of speech is shit you expect Putin or Orban to do and has no place in the EU.
Also isn't Reddit filled with the exact same thing?
dhldri@reddit
Free speech is a human right bozo an automated system of abuse hurling should never be allowed, since you know, it’s not a human.
I swear so many amazing uses for AI but we got people defending ai abuse bots lmao. Ps sto spamming this point.
BendicantMias@reddit
So basically boils down to discrimination? AI speech bad cos it's not a person, much like, say, black folk speech used to be bad cos they weren't persons?
Almechik@reddit
You had to repeat kindergarden didn't you
BendicantMias@reddit
Don't think so. Don't have any significant memories of kindergarden to suggest it. It seems you do tho. Was it so traumatic for you that you're still thinking of kindergarden so many years later? There there little cub. I'm sure you'll move on...someday.
batnat711@reddit
Are you seriously comparing real living breathing human people and the racism they faced, to a computer program praising hitler and people saying 'hmm, this might be bad'??
BendicantMias@reddit
Even using your own argument, that program is being used by people. Whether it's about AI or humans, either way you look at it you're just trying to push for ever more censorship.
giant_shitting_ass@reddit
You say this as if we don't already have bots saying "fuck trump" all over the place
dhldri@reddit
Clearly your brain is a bit mouldy. But I’m going to repeat this, automated systems of creating any type of abuse, should never be allowed it’s a waste of resources that could be used for anything even remotely productive.
giant_shitting_ass@reddit
Deal with it.
dhldri@reddit
Actually yes. The fact that energy is being wasted on a bots spewing more nonsense, instead of actually assisting people. Says a lot about the intentions of the people who made in the first place.
BendicantMias@reddit
Why are you wasting so much energy on Reddit bro? Why don't you, idk, go cure cancer or something? Also please break up with your partner if you have one, and estrange your family. They're distracting you from maximizing your economic value contribution to society.
giant_shitting_ass@reddit
Reddit moment 🥀
BendicantMias@reddit
The AI is serving its users. It's productive for them, and you're no one to decide otherwise.
FlyingSquirrel44@reddit
Yeah won't somebody think of poor little Erdogan getting clowned on by a chat bot?
bannedByTencent@reddit
Praising Hitler is a free speech? Then no, hard no. At least in Europe.
Festering-Fecal@reddit
Technically we don't have free speech we have protected speech.
Burning the flag was ruled a form of protected protesting when it used to be illegal.
You also can't follow a person screaming at someone all day especially if it's a credible death threat.
Xtrems876@reddit
Eagerly awaiting some dumbass to defend an automated chatbot being allowed to output tweets saying that the polish PM should "suck a cock" as freedom of speech necessary to protect us from orwellian government tyrranny
Strikingprotocol@reddit
Damn you ain't licking the boot, you are straight up deepthroating it.
Adiv_Kedar2@reddit
Pretty sure it said that there should be a second Holocaust recently as well
Jay_Jay_Jason_74@reddit
It did say that Hitler needed to come back as a response to a Jewish woman having a controversial opinion
Adiv_Kedar2@reddit
Apparently it wasn't even a Jewish woman someone created the account, made the tweet, and deleted it after the response
PastryAssassinDeux@reddit
proof that it wasn't a jewish woman?
wellknownname@reddit
Was this comment written by MechaHitler? In response to the fact that a racist AI falsely accused a Jewish woman of celebrating Christian deaths because her name was 'Steinberg', your comment is 'prove that they weren't Jewish'?
PastryAssassinDeux@reddit
So you have no proof just going on feels? Or is it a conspiracy against jewish people?
wellknownname@reddit
It's a LLM hallucination. What's your obsession with Jewish people? Perhaps it was a Jewish women. Or a white Anglo Saxon protestant. Or perhaps it was a bigoted Reddit commenter.
overtoke@reddit
they should be attributed to elon musk, not grok.
these are musk thoughts, ideas and quotes that grok is being forced to adhere to.
tea_snob10@reddit
So basically what a bunch of neo-nazis in the west and arabs in MENA post constantly online?
RoostasTowel@reddit
But you want every chatbot coded so that it is unable to use certain words and phrases?
If you make it so they can't say anything mean don't even bother creating it.
Czart@reddit
Your terms are acceptable.
abcdefghi_12345jkl@reddit
Oh we understand dude 😂
giant_shitting_ass@reddit
Mocking politicians is a core aspect of free speech. You're on a site that does nothing but that.
Xtrems876@reddit
oh my god I actually caught one
tanloopy@reddit
Yeah dude, you should be allowed to tell your PM to suck a cock.
Xtrems876@reddit
I'm, as you said, a dude. This large language model published on Twitter - is not a dude.
tanloopy@reddit
So you agree that people can say it just not AI chat bots
Xtrems876@reddit
That was pretty much my argument, yes - though it's more about the difference between me being just a regular person, and this chatbot being an integral part of a product used by hundreds of millions of people.
In the same way as I wouldn't really have a problem with Musk saying such things or making tweets about it, but I would have a problem with him buying up billboards to say this or with him promoting such tweets above others by tweaking the algorithm. It's about power and influence, less so about the message being organically sourced. If you tweak the chatbot to insult certain politicians, and then integrate that chatbot into your product, then you're just a shadowy rich foreigner running a campaign to influence elections in my country.
AwkwardTal@reddit
I agree with you, if the door is open for chat/ai allowing it free reign to "insert what ever offence you want" to other humans it will 100% be weaponized to harass, stalk and generally make people's lives worse
You thought someone tweeting at you a bad comment is "eh who cares?" Think about an AI who can find you on every digital platform, your family, clients or people you work for and just and go after them too to get at you, imagine it generating pictures of you and sending it to your family, deep fakes etc
This is a Pandora's box of automated harassment
tanloopy@reddit
This conversation is so 2025 lmao. Yeah that part raises interesting questions.
giant_shitting_ass@reddit
Wielkimati@reddit
What the fuck is a venmo
pigeon_shit_evrywhre@reddit
Tool used by the free folks. You wouldn't understand.
Wielkimati@reddit
Idk man, you free folks always seem to have worse versions of stuff we have.
In Poland we have 'Blik', it allows us to send each other money using just a phone number connected to our bank accounts. Is Venmo something similar?
drink_with_me_to_day@reddit
Catch this
Automated AI bots saying your PM sucks is an integral part of democracy
Civsi@reddit
I don't think this is as convincing an argument as you think. Those other comments mentioned bellow? Yeah, those cross quite a few lines, but throwing an everyday insult at a politician? If I can tell you to suck a dick in the street and not expect the long hard dick of the law to fuck me, this bot can do the same online.
Prize-Money-9761@reddit
Actually you could potentially face sexual harassment charges if you told a random person on the street to suck your dick
Civsi@reddit
Alright, fair I suppose. Let's assume the insult is thrown in the middle of a conversation both parties consented to and assume there is sufficient context for a reasonable individual to understand the phrase was used as an insult and not a request for sexual favors.
Telling random people to suck your dick in the street and online is obviously.... Problematic.
PIPXIll@reddit
Your words (and the quote given from the AI) was to suck "a dick" and not "your/my dick"
It's not asking or demanding sexual favors. Pedantic? Maybe. But so are the laws we deal with.
You can (or should) be able to tell any world leader to cram >!the biggest, smelliest, most unwashed, uncut, cheese riddled dick, as well as!< their opinions into any orifice. And they should also have the freedom to tell you where to stick yours too.
Fullyswirled@reddit
Crazy police state we live in, what an outlandish way for the state to exert control.
Kizik@reddit
Yeah, really insane. They should exert control by sending unmarked, masked agents to abduct people off the street like a proper nation.
Fullyswirled@reddit
I think we actually agree on the out of control monitoring of an unjust police state. Two things can be true at once; I think the U.S. overtly militarized police force (including immigration)is completely insane and also for example, I should be able to tell you or anyone else to “suck my dick” as an expression and not be arrested for it. You know?
LeGrandLucifer@reddit
It isn't but at the same time it's a fucking chatbot. It's going to say stupid shit, no matter what.
Moarbrains@reddit
Eagerly awaiting your masterplan on how to limit speech output from LLMs that doesn't hurt your feelings.
Baderkadonk@reddit
I'll be the dumbass I guess.
No government should concern itself with a shitposting bot, nor should any waste resources trying to fight it. Whoever has the job to deal with this should be spending their time doing literally anything else.
Since when do insulting tweets matter at all? Why is it different if it's not a human? The whole thing is pretty funny to me, and it becomes even funnier when someone's pride is actually wounded by an AI tweet.
It actually might be nice if more AI used a more unhinged communication style. If you listen to Grok, it's pretty easy to realize you need to take everything with a grain of salt. Other AI will get something wrong but say it in a way that sounds convincing and correct.
Neurobeak@reddit
I mean, what are the cons?
BabylonianWeeb@reddit
He has been saying stupid shit and hateful stuff for a while, but he only got attention recently from politicians since he started to criticize Israel's genocide of Palestinians
Regular-Custom@reddit
That’s because it was calling for the return of Hitler and a second holocaust… you can see why that’s problematic for European governments I hope
TonyHeaven@reddit
It was an awkward gesture , surely.
