Which American City to visit in September (Solo for ~7-8 days)?

Hello everybody, I hope I am in the right sub. Just need a little advice on which city you would recommend me to travel to. I am from Europe and I have lived a year abroad in Oregon and visited the US a few years ago (Florida, Seattle). Since it has been many years that I have been in the US, I would like to take a little trip to your country. I have between 7-8 days. My criteria: \- walkable city (do not wanna rent a car/bike) \- good food scene (mexican / BBQ?) \- culture \- night life (walking street, live music) \- visit a Stadium for Baseball/Bball if possible I have informed myself already a bit, but just wanted to hear your thoughts. Some cities that I kept hearing were San Diego, New Orleans, Washington DC, Chicago!

New Orleans or DC. San Diego is not walkable. Chicago is great but NOLA and DC are unique.

I would lean toward D.C. It's easy to navigate by metro or on foot. I don't know that it would be good for culture or night life though.

You could very easily split your time between a couple East Coast cities. Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington. Pick two. Pretty much everything you’re looking for can be found.

For your criteria, NYC seems pretty good. It's not going to have a glut of BBQ, but there are certainly places if you want to seek them out. Very walkable/good public transit. It is going to be a bit expensive, so may still not be the best choice, but certainly a consideration.

Maybe Seattle or Fort Bragg California, fort Bragg smaller and chill, Seattle fun and busy maybe a smaller rich town near Seattle

As far as baseball San Diego is amazing, one of the best stadium experiences in all of American sports. Plus insanely good Mexican food. Chicago is also great for baseball just make sure its the Cubs at Wrigley Field and not the White Sox. Another place that comes to mind is Houston. The Astros are really good, crowds are awesome, and killer Tex-Mex food.

I live in greater Washington - Washington checks every box except for the food. in my opinion, this region has a ton of mediocre options, but doesn't do any of them well. you can get texmex and mex here, but it won't be as good as San Diego, San Antonio, South Texas, or Arizona. further, Washington is not a 24h city. The metro closes at midnight Sunday - Thursday, 2am Friday and Saturday. NoLa doesn't have a MLB baseball team. The historic areas are wonderful to walk in, but outside them can be a bear. to my knowledge Louis Armstrong airport is connected to downtown with busses, not rapid transit Chicago checks every box. I don't know much about San Diego aside from it has a light rail and has a wonderful mex food scene
