Looking to buy a new mobile.phone under £200 . Recently had redmi 11 which was great and now have a Motorola g24 which is awful. Seen the redmi phone have suffered with camera issues on the 13/14 , is this still the case or do I look at something else . Would need fast charging.

Hi there
I’m in the UK. I have been looking at getting the Oppo Find N6. Can anyone tell me if there’s any functional restrictions with getting this imported to the UK?
What I mean by this is, can i use all the apps as normal? Banking apps? Maps etc? Whatsapp? all the bog standard apps everyone uses or expected typical apps that people in the UK use.
would anyone tell me if there’s any pitfalls to getting it?
Also can someone clarify if the sim cards work etc?
thank you in advance xxx

I was shopping for a phone recently and this one popped up https://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/grade-a1-samsung-galaxy-a35-128gb-5g-sim-free-smartphone-awesome-navy-a1-sm-a356bzkbeub/version.asp You can do a lot worse for £175.

Samsung A series.
My personal phone is an A15 that cost £110 3 years ago, it is still a better device than the S24 I have from work.

Let’s be real here. It isn’t is it 😂

In actual practical use, it is.
WAY better battery life, more storage (sd card) bigger screen, lighter, and has a proper jack socket.
There is no difference in performance at all in normal usage.

Just opening an app is slower. That is normal use. You may not be invested in technology or whatever, but I recently used my nieces iPhone 14 (I have a 16pro max) and it was dramatically and noticeably slower. This sort of thing is even more noticeable in android phones that are less optimised.
I’m NOT an apple fan boy before the choir churns in, I use most phones as I have O2 switch up. To say that the mentioned phone isn’t any slower or lacking in performance is just wrong. Unless, of course, all you do is make calls on the thing.

Been a geek since I built my first MK14 in the early 80's!
I love tech, and I love the advancements in technology flagship phone drive, but I am also an engineer by trade so look at things practically.
Working in nanosecond measurements, the S24 may open some large apps a tiny bit faster, but you just can't tell the difference.
In some cases, the stock camera app is a great example, the S24 is noticeably slower than the A13 because the app is much more complex.
There is no right or wrong here, it is just a statement of fact that for me, running day to day apps, banking, messaging, music, mapping etc,, along with its hardware features, the A13 is a better device.

Second hand Samsung Galaxy S10, could easily get it for under £200, despite being from 2019 its still a completely viable option.

Motorola G55 or G85 both available Argos so can pick up pretty much immediately, decent phones with good battery and performance.
For price point compared to higher end they aint too bad tbh.
