Distance:  No idea where this took place – in a port and on an island.  Greece has lots of islands, so no help there.

Timing: I’d like to give Xena and Gabrielle a couple of weeks – time for Xena’s friends to find her and time for her to formulate a plan which was quite convoluted.  Could even throw in another week for her to have spoken to Hercules and found out about Autolycus in the first place.

The episode itself:  Two days, one night.  Despite Arkel saying it would take them “all night” to get to the castle, they got there during the night and were allocated sleeping quarters, and a lot then happened that night.    

First time

• Autolycus is in a Xena episode
• We come across another person, Sinteres, who can use pressure points
• We  learn Xena was friends with Israelites

Repeat Performance

• Xena dancing again (last time in Cradle of Hope)
• Gabrielle gets kidnapped, knife to her throat

• Autolycus fancies Xena (who doesn't?)
• Xena must like Autolycus because she opens up about her and Hercules – you don't see her sharing such personal things with many others
• Someone on the writing team must like Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark - and were 'inspired' by it.
