Royal Couple of Thieves: Timing and Distance

Distance: No idea where this took place – in a port and on an island. Greece has lots of islands, so no help there.
Timing: I’d like to give Xena and Gabrielle a couple of weeks – time for Xena’s friends to find her and time for her to formulate a plan which was quite convoluted. Could even throw in another week for her to have spoken to Hercules and found out about Autolycus in the first place.
The episode itself: Two days, one night. Despite Arkel saying it would take them “all night” to get to the castle, they got there during the night and were allocated sleeping quarters, and a lot then happened that night.
First time
- Autolycus is in a Xena episode
- We come across another person, Sinteres, who can use pressure points
- We learn Xena was friends with Israelites
Repeat Performance
- Xena dancing again (last time in Cradle of Hope)
- Gabrielle gets kidnapped, knife to her throat
- “The Cave”
Other Things of Note
- Autolycus fancies Xena (who doesn't?)
- Xena must like Autolycus because she opens up about her and Hercules – you don't see her sharing such personal things with many others
- Someone on the writing team must like Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark - and were 'inspired' by it.

I doubt this will help, but when buying their costumes, Xena says Sinteres is "wrapped in an overthrow of Hytillus. We should be done before he gets back." Xenastaff could've made the place up, of course. I couldn't find it on the net. Regardless, your time estimates seem as reasonable as any.

Actually I looked that up! Couldn't find anything though.

Is this not the first episode ever where we see them boarding a ship for transportation on screen. I just realized that now.

I think you're right! Good pickup. I'll edit the post. Unfortunately it's not the first ship Gabrielle boards - we have to wait for Season 2 for that! It will be so much easier trying to work out distances when we can include ships in the journey, regardless of whether we see them on a ship or not.

That's true. It isn't the first for Gabrielle. And your right some ship travel isn't seen on screen.

Of course they liked Indiana Jones. Who didn’t?!
