If a dentist doesn't set a filling properly and it falls out immediately, how long do they have to fix it?

Filling fell out before I got home. Rang up and they said come back in 2 weeks. So I'm sat about with two drilled out teeth until then. Doesn't seem very healthy. My doctor too. Chest pain they said come in a week... feel like nobody cares.

Keep clean till you get seen, put a temporary filling in if you can. You'll be fine unless the tooth was already worse when the dentist first treated it.
Sometimes they purposely don't drill as deep as they would like to clean out decay as it's close to the nerve and hoping it will stop progressing. If the go in deeper it can be root canal which no one really wants unless they have to (it's fine to have unless you are in agony and want one quick)

All fillings have a 12 months guarantee under nhs

Just need to find an NHS dentist first.

Sad reality which is why I fly to another country to get my teeth sorted when I need. In the UK I just do cleaning and x-ray to see if there's smt wrong.
Hope you get your stuff sorted OP, I feel your frustration.b

Turkey?

Portugal for small stuff. Brazil when I needed an implant.

Does that end up being cheaper than going private taking flights, accommodation etc into account?

For Portugal, I go and come back the same day or next day. It's been cheaper but that's my whole point, it's the quality of the service. Usually when I need cleaning, and to do a filling or two.
If it's a root canal or implant, I don't think about it twice and fly to Brazil here I have better dentists, the service is better, never had an issue and ends up being cheaper than in the UK with the plus of visiting somewhere amazing.
Coincidentally I have an appointment today to redo a filling, privately, and I am terrified. I'll do it here in London because in this case it's not worth it going abroad.

It's a sad state of affairs when travelling that far ends up cheaper and you receive a better service.

I can't agree more.. 🥵

Keep the two cavities as clean as possible. You can buy temp filling material from a pharmacist. That'll keep the cavities from developing secondary caries. If you're finding yourself unable to eat sweet foods or anything hot or cold. It may be worth just turning up at the surgery and sitting and waiting for someone to help you.

You could try calling Bob Mortimer, he is an experienced part-dentist

You need Fuji IX for that. And adequate moisture control. And a Shumaschi.....a curved Indian flute.

I used Temparin Max when a filling fell out a few years ago - it worked really well.

Truly NHS dentists don't really exist, or are at least as rare as hens teeth (lol).
They're private practices, set up by a private entity, who then contracts out a percent of their appointment space to NHS patients, which the NHS pays them for.
So any area's ability to serve their local population is entirely dependent on if a business owner decides it's financially viable to open up a private dentistry, given location, rent, paying staff etc.
What should happen, is that the authorities look at a block of population, and say "this area needs 4 schools, 1 doctors, 1 dentists, 2 police stations and 1 fire station". But that would be too sensible.

The NHS's capacity to be able to react immediately to urgent but non-emergency cases is pretty much zero.
So unless you're actively dying, take a number.

If it’s an NHS dentist, they probably don’t have enough time. Private would be next day, but they’ll probably charge you again and somehow blame you
