This is just for anyone who like myself 30 mins ago didn't know about a product called h2go. Turns salt into hypochlorous acid through electrolysis. Pretty neat.

It's neat but unnecessary.
Making water safe to drink is simple, cheap and plentiful.
For example - you can buy water filters built into Nalgene bottle caps that fit any Nalgene bottle.
Or buy one of the many gravity bags that fit Sawyer style filters.
Buy a pack or two of waer purification tablets and a UV pen as a backup.
And you can boil the water if you absolutely had to.
