That's awesome. Love the pic. Lucy tells such stories with her facial expressions. It would have fit the character either way (not her fault that the doppelganger showed up first), but I like that it's when she's looking at real Gabrielle.

In the first scene with Hope/Gabs, her expression is one of joy mixed with confusion, like she senses something a little "off." She studies Hope and mentions there being "an air of danger" around her.

Yes, when Xena wasnāt all emotional in the first meeting I knew something wasnāt right. She definitely could sense it wasnāt really Gabrielle

Well, I'm not sure she sensed it wasn't Gabs, so much as "off." She may have been surprised Gabs looked so healthy and happy, considering what she'd been through.

Oh I think the doubt was definitely there. I think at first she was tricked with the initial shock factor but as soon as that initial shock/hug was over and she talks to āGabrielleā/hope she starts to lock inā¦. the seed was sown in her head with that comment said to her about āsense of danger around youā she didnāt quite know yet bc she needed more proof

Yes! Xena it was her first, when she saw her in the distant. When she was close ready to strike, Xena realise it was Gabrielle and not Hope in that moment.
